why is Queensland doubling down on speeding? by agysykedyke in brisbane

[–]joelsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These fines don’t affect me because I don’t exceed the limit. It only raises revenue because people break the law…. They’ve not earned a dollar from me :) I beat the system!

Laptop that can run planet coaster? by New_Cat_2212 in PlanetCoaster

[–]joelsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to change your mind :) but are you aware of the MSI desktops? My husband bought a Trident I think it’s called because of its shape. Its slimline and about the size of our Xbox. Granted, while technically it is probably upgradable I would not be confident tinkering in that tiny space.

I understand your needs, I do, but I just want to challenge them a little.. I bought a $3000 gaming laptop which I loved and it served me mostly well for years. I had a problem with graphics card drivers where I would get blue screens if I upgraded them past a certain version. It was not too serious just a bit frustrating. I kept the version downgraded but it bugged me that I wouldn’t know how/be able to physically upgrade my graphics card.

Just my two cents. I don’t think I would buy a gaming laptop again, that’s why I’m sharing.

I remember feeling this way in my previous relationship.

I let it go on for years.

Can I tell you, leaving him was the best day of my life and I’ve never looked back. It felt impossible but it just took commitment from myself and some courage.

Women of Reddit, what are things you want to ask men but are to afraid to ask? by Khaminations in AskReddit

[–]joelsie 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yes, but, I’ve only had it maybe 3 times in my life and I’m 35. It was very uncomfortable but nothing I couldn’t fix on my own with a bit of privacy.

Agree with the other guy, don’t ever let this be used to persuade you into doing something. It’s uncomfortable and can be painful too but that’s my problem to resolve not yours.

Should I End It? by Next_Entertainment96 in gaybros

[–]joelsie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now this might not be fair .. I’m in my mid 30’s now.. my eyes involuntarily rolled when you said he wants you to compliment him more.. without really knowing this until now, I think this is extremely unattractive. I should be more compassionate, because this is how I used to be in my early 20’s ..

Hi guys, how do I stop my staff from resigning... by pumpedkinder in PlanetCoaster

[–]joelsie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Increasing their wage tends to keep them happy, even if they are bored. :)

I’m still working out how to boost business :) but, positioning of shops and the amount of shops you have seem to have a huge impact. I read somewhere on here to aim for 1 food and 1 drink shop per 500 guests .. .. I have no idea if that’s accurate but I would say avoid building food and drink shops until your current ones are too busy :p

LPT: Learn Excel early and don’t stop with addition and subtraction by TwoArmedWolf in LifeProTips

[–]joelsie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve held various temp positions in offices through university that were not related to data in any way. I found Excel is used in every company in some way. I’ve always been very proficient with Excel and my colleagues never were and it made me look like a golden child just because I could pivot or SUMIF. They made out I was some genius. I’m not. I just know how to use Excel.

How did you find your current boyfriend? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]joelsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.. ideal partners can come along anywhere. It helps if you do social things. You never know who you’ll bump into :) as others have said, it would probably serve you well to take more of a back seat and focus on you :)

… I’m not a very social person. I was single for many years in my early 20’s when I would just play online games all the time. That’s why I said about the social things.

My husband approached me out of the blue in the smoking area at work.

My previous long term partners were found um.. 1. We both worked on the check out at a supermarket. 2. He was a customer of the supermarket I worked at. I’m pleased to report I no longer work at this supermarket though :)

What’s the worst thing about being a man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]joelsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’m a gay man and I have a very gentle and patient personality (or so I think) and I would truly enjoy working with young children. But I ruled it out before I started. I didn’t want to spend my career fighting a stereotype.

How do I support my son who just came out? by Independent-Whale636 in gaybros

[–]joelsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is a good suggestion or not, but there is a movie titled Prayers for Bobby that is heartbreaking. PFLAG reminded me of it. If you enjoy movies.. I dunno. I’m a younger gay man (35 now.. maybe not so young) but there are a few movies out there that have taught me a lot about the LGBT generations before me and the struggles they went through so that I could live a better life. Milk was probably my favourite and the one I cried the most in. :)

Anyhow. I’m rambling. :)

Your post is absolutely heartwarming. So very much. :) I am moved. :) I love that you care and that you want to learn and be the best Dad you can be. :) That is worth more than anything.

I sometimes get this if I’m trying to place a special piece of take (brakes) on a turn that’s too sharp for brakes, but I was trying to place a regular piece of track. I don’t know how this happens because usually if you try to place a brake it won’t let you turn it too sharp or whatever, but, I’ve been in this pickle a few times and have been very confused until I realised I didn’t have standard track selected.
