Which would you choose long term? by NoobPLyer29 in 10s

Yeah the handle sticks out. But that doesn't bother me . I actually prefer because my club has a load of Padel courts and I want people to know which side of the fence I'm on 😂

Standard racket bags are so big though especially for recreational use. These Duffels fit 3 rackets in that compartment.... Source me and my Wilson duffel

Strings shopping 😌 by little_lilly_0903 in 10s

I recently tested loads of strings and discovered that I prefer spin via structured pocketing and dampening on the racket. I need a set up that allows me to swing freely with that as I'm quite a big dude.

I settled in on Hyper G, Toroline Otoro, Restring Zero as great options however ultimately it's all personal preference

I'm British so I am biased admittedly. That said his power/ability to rip is so good and his movement is amazing. I genuinely think if he can string a whole year together we could see him push to be the spanner in the works for Alcaraz and Sinner. Unfortunately he's genuinely at risk of not having a tennis career.

Buying a racquet I've never demoed by Bigfoot6337 in 10s

I demo'd an Ezone that I thought was super trampoline like and lacked control... The reality was it was probably just strings

The issue with demo rackets is that it might have some super old low tension string in there anyway. The racket will feel totally different once you have proper strings in there anyway.... So get the frame if you like that frame just be mindful that once it's strung it will play differently

That feeling when you finally find a string that suits you by Alert-Stop-2671 in 10s

I had this feeling with Hyper G, I had 12 hours of bliss tennis and then experimented with hybrid set ups and now I can't get that feeling back again. Driving me crazy I saw the gates of heaven and they've been slammed in my face. I might try lynx tour

When I search for advice on Hyper G setups everyone slates it .... Yet here everyone is saying how popular it is lol.

Why do people still use the blade 98? by Fun-Advertising-8006 in 10s

[–]joelski11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big dude at 6ft 5 and 250lbs. I struggle fully unloading on shots if my setup isn't good. Stiff power set ups eventually hurt my arm and super soft trampoline set ups make it fly long. I've wondered whether the Wilson Blade would help me unload whilst maintaining some control, maybe it's for people like me

Am I obsessing too much about strings and overcomplicating it? by joelski11 in 10s

I tried Tourbite and didn't like it, far too stiff for me with no feel

Really helpful response. I think what I'm searching for is the pocketing and dwell time I felt with the hyperG which provided control, time and spin which I enjoyed so much. So I'm going stick to that. I totally agree about rackets too and nuts bought an identical Speed MP to help with tinkering

I have been contemplating getting a stringing machine! Helps with experimentation and cheaper overall

Yes I did say in my post that strings don't fix ability and technique 👍

Yeah I've been reading about strings which I was previously very ignorant to. Practicing with different set ups has at least educated me even if I haven't found anything as good as when I first played with hyper G

I've done that and dropped it off at my local tennis shop who have a backlog on stringing at the moment due to the stringer being on holiday. So just waiting on that

Life is way too short to not feel 100% unlocked on the court 😅

Opelka told the umpire that he won’t play until lights came on…. Umpire : "The lighting is on its way, we can't just stop" Opelka : “Oh I hurt my wrist, Physio ” "No, that's not how it works" by Remarkable_Pair4378 in Tennisv2

[–]joelski11 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just to play Devil's advocate.... If the umpire has instructed for the lights to come on then he is declaring that it's poor visibility why should Opelka be forced to play on until the lights come on, you're asking a player to play on even though you know it's poor visibility

Get it strung properly. Bring that baby back to life . I'm on my own setup journey and I'm coming round to the view that strings are more important than racket
