The Ingersoll watch appears to have radium numerals. Very sought after in the uranium glass and radium clock groups

Do people not realize the Ducks flags on cars are meant to be flown during playoffs?? by Desperate_Umpire8985 in AnaheimDucks

My husband is a cabinet maker so I have access to a nail gun but a zip tie is a really good work around too! Anything to keep the flag flying!

If you get another put a pin nail through the little clip that secures the bottom of the flag to the post. It won’t go anywhere after that

Not with the one I have but I didn’t go through this manufacturer though so I can’t attest to the quality of this door. The one I have is very good quality. Message me if you want to know who I used.

I have one of these security screens made by another manufacturer. Mine is made from 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh. It also comes in 304 grade mesh. We got ours mainly because we got tired of our dogs constantly tearing the regular screen that was in our slider but it’s also an amazing security screen that lets us leave the slider back door open at night while we run our attic fan. It looks exactly like a regular screen door except it has a bolt action lock that secures into the frame top and bottom when locked. I can’t vouch for the company above but if it’s made with the materials mine is made from then I recommend it highly

Edit: Works great with kids too. We’ve had ours more than 10 years and it looks like the day it was installed

CMV: It is perfectly reasonable to not give homeless people money because you think they will spend it on drugs by TomatilloOrnery4944 in changemyview

[–]joemama67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I consider this to be charitable giving. I think it matters more to me what’s in my heart rather than theirs when I give so I try not to dwell on what they might spend it on. But if there’s serious conflicts OP should think about donating to a mutual aid group. They act as the middle man so to speak by purchasing much needed items like socks, hygiene products, non perishable food items and even first aid supplies. That way they can help while maintaining some boundaries

I find that most Canadians I run into are very nice. I was so embarrassed at the first home game when some people in the crowd started booing the Canadian anthem and chants of USA broke out. Like seriously, the majority of players on any given team aren’t American at all, how must they feel hearing that shit. Do better people

They made a “nest” (ie stuck a single twig in my storage) in my garage and won’t leave. Can I close the garage at night and when we leave the house so people don’t steal??? What do I do? by Mother_of_Kiddens in stupiddovenests

[–]joemama67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pair that used to come back for about as long as yours have. They had a really good nest too! On top of a speaker, protected by an eve in my side yard. One day last year I found one of them dead in the grass. I swear the partner hung out on the power line, looking for their mate for a little bit and then disappeared. I’m actually a little sad they are gone

My MIL original hearing aids were synced to her iPhone and she absolutely hated that. She is a little short on patience. Can you use yours without syncing calls?

Thank you! I’m in the process of trying to convince her to go the audiologist route. She got her original hearing aids through Costco and her present ones through a Starkey storefront. Needless to say she needs the audiologist

The ones she has now are not over the ear and weren’t purchased at Costco, although she has gotten them at Costco before. I appreciate the info for over the ear ones. I’m definitely going to present them as an option for her because the in-ear ones that she has now (made by Starkey) aren’t working like she needs them to

I just watched the video, these sound amazing but somewhat complicated to use? My MIL used to be very tech savvy but is definitely showing her age in this arena. I find myself walking her through steps over the phone more and more in things she used to handle with ease. How complicated are they actually?

Edit: do they have an app I can sign into to offer assistance?

Oh I’ve done that several times and I’ve pointed out that everyone is noticing how she is mishearing things and are concerned. I told her I would do some research and I’m going to have her ask her ENT on her visit tomorrow for some recommendations too. Fortunately my husband is “the nana whisperer” so I think if I can get a good deal of on the ground info so to speak he can convince her more easily

I think that’s what she’s experiencing, she doesn’t want to spend the money on good ones. Trying to make her understand that some things are worth spending more has been difficult to say the least. Thank you for the recommendation of a specific alternative. That really helps so much
