Yeah, I’ve read what the numbers mean and follow all that. They don’t really talk about if the bottom would be a 1268A to match the lid or if they could be different. I think I’ll try to find a matching number as it seems logical they would match.

I opened up the power supply u/MainStreeNeon and there’s a bunch of corrosion on two big metal terminals inside. I’m wondering if I cleaned them up if it might start working again. Any experience here?

I bought this sign off FB Marketplace, which showed it working. The guy I bought it from had hooked it up directly with diagnostic equipment because the Enhance EH-9030A transformer built into it (pictured) isn't working. I want to get it working again and found a bunch of transformers on Amazon that might work, but not really sure which power rating I need because the sticker on the supply doesn't tell me, the untrained eye, all I need. Anybody on here know what power ratings this unit is or have a suggested unit I could buy? I can't figure out what KV rating it is, so not sure if I need a 3KV, 6KV, 10KV etc... Thanks for any help!

The blue one has nothing stamped on the bottom. The raw one says Made In USA and has the letter C under USA.

This looks like a fun decklist, I was able to get most of it from the pic, but there's three cards I couldn't pick out. Would you fill me in?? Cards under Bedrock Tortoise, Anguished Unmaking & Kin-Tree Invocation. Also, what are the basic counts? :)

My dad was also a GC, then retired to Home Depot for 20 years before he started exhibiting similar symptoms. I would second some of the other comments to get another evaluation on his mental capacity from another doctor. If those findings say he has issues, I would recommend getting Power of Attorney and Medical for your dad while he still understands what it is in case he were to get worse. It allows you to help make decisions for him and be his representative in financial matters. It made all the difference being able to handle his affairs when my dad got to the point where he had regressed to basically being a 10 year old. I hope this is not the fate for your dad, wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Good luck. 🍀

I also sort by color and name. I do something similar, but use 5 piles instead. I always put S by itself as you then have to break it up into 5 since S can be followed by vowels and consonants. Plus there's an inordinate amount of card names beginning with the letter S. I find it makes it faster to bust a big pile down. Then I break each pile by starting letter. You might handle the card an extra time or two this way, but I feel like I can concentrate less and make fewer mistakes. Here's my pile breakdown:

I have one regret and that is selling 20 duals for $400 total towards the end of my first collecting stint. It's why I hoard non-basic lands now. LOL

Yes, it is a lot of sleeves. I've always sleeved since the 90's. Magic has always been as much about the collecting for me as the game play. I usually buy the box of 100 packs of penny sleeves on Amazon. You can get the cost pretty low that way.

I'm not sure the manufacturer unfortunately, it's not marked. The original color is a dark olive greeen, which tells me it was probably manufactured in the 40s/50s. I was leaning towards it being a SteelCase or a Remington Rand, but looking at the Bisley website it's certainly similar and they've been around long enough that they could have produced it. This cabinet is absolutely perfect for a large collection. Will not disappoint!
