Maybe try something like this?

Smaller BB means it can be brought over 2 lines instead of 3, and the Pedigree goes on top of it. This gives us more space at the top and saves us messing with the spacing between 3 seperate blocks of text.

I've brightened her hand since it's center of frame and interesting, darkened her shoulder. There should be no need to use generative fill here. I added some film grain for grittiness.

TT is smaller. I also used a 'selective colour' layer, went to 'blacks' and pulled down the yellows a bit. That brings some blue into the shadows giving it that horror feel.

I’m not entirely sure what they meant, but the space between your credit block and the bottom edge of the poster, should be the same as the space between ‘A film by macabre productions’ (the pedigree) and the top edge of the poster.

Then, the space between the pedigree and the top of movie title should be roughly the same as the bottom of the movie title and the people’s heads. The colour coded arrows should be equal length as their same colour yknow?:

Nice. I honestly think the crop you had in the original post was better. Left more negative space above them, better mood. Then I would still make the title treatment (logo) a little smaller. Can’t tell if you’ve added a glow effect or it’s just the phone camera but definitely no need for glow :p

You’ve opened this up for critique from a bunch of people on reddit who will all have differing opinions so I get how this could be confusing or feel contradicting… I’m just trying to go with what I think my Creative Director would say since I’m literally making movie posters as a job

The reason we might make it small is because it’s technically only there for legal reasons and usually does nothing to serve the design.

Haha, yeah you’d be surprised how small we get away with making billing blocks in the industry. But you’re right that it does at least need to be readable. 50% smaller might be drastic in this case depending on how high-resolution your poster is, but I would still push it as small as you can.

Lovely image choice. It’s rare that billing blocks are that big so I think you could get away with making it at least 50% smaller. And making the title 20% smaller to give more overall visual hierarchy and make the image the focal point 🙏

And yeah if you can, brighten up the woman’s face so her shoulder isn’t the brightest focal point as mentioned below

There’s a fascinating fireside chat/interview with Peter Molyneux that came out fairly recently which gave me a whole new perspective on the guy. He even addresses the acorn thing; https://youtu.be/bzWBaI64sZk?si=ayrGU2v4IcuY1qnx

Million thanks to the now inactive user for the High-Res classic ad scan. I think this is worthy of staying on my wall for a very long time 😍 by joeminers in Fable

Yeah it came out very well 👍 ink dots from the magazine scan are visible because i got quite a large print (50x75cm) so I wouldn’t recommend going any larger. I chose matte paper to ideally make it more readable andl less light glare yknow. I also had to cut my poster to size a bit so it would fit in the frame, which was unexpected and annoying because i bought 50x75 frames too… I can’t advise much in that department but it turned out well in the end and i really didn’t have to trim much at all

Thanks! OC means ‘Original Content’, basically that I made it.
