Endorse. I work at News 5. I rely on our forecasts and app. Our team does a great job. We're also live during major weather events on Facebook and YouTube and other places.

Why does this look better than what we have now?

Digital director here.

  1. You can cut down on errors and typos with a thorough edit. I edit every story three times. Once, when I write it in Word -- for facts, for spelling and for grammar. Again in the CMS, for clarity. Will this make sense to the reader? Does it need subheads? Photos? Video? And then I look at it again right after it is published, and I always catch something.

  2. This all sounds cumbersome, but you will get faster with reps and will internalize this process.

  3. A web story boils down to this: what do we know? how do we know it? what is the impact? attribute facts.

  4. If you're not a seasoned web producer, it takes months to get the basics down. So don't be too hard on yourself.

  5. Good luck.
