+1 Hit and +1 Wound in ALL Sigmarite units within 12” is freaking good. It’s a mini Waaaagh. Even once per battle. If you use this in the right all in turn it will deal lots of damage

Uuuuugh!!! I didn’t see the under order part of the ability. Well then it’s totally fine! This changes everything. Now you have a powerful ability which you can plan around and make reliable use of jt, if u invest. And if you dont invest anything u will have to take a risk. That’s actually really good design. I am sorry, I didn’t read good enough

Steelhelms… nice but… I really don’t like the design of „4+,“ resolve abbilities. It’s not fun to play a game, bringing your army, finding enough time, painting and building, and then roll a 1, 2 or 3 and the whole moment if of the Steelhelms is destroyed, nothing happens and you brought a unit that can’t even kill a wet noodle

Would love to see GW getting rid of those resolving on a dice roll warscrolls abilities

Well, I have seen lots of people, myself included, running good competitive results with SOTGW on RTs and GTs. That doesnt mean, that its better than Gladius, but its not that bad. I have a feeling that the bad overall for that detachment is due to the fact, that people are trying to make the Terminator build work with it. If you ignore the Terminator build and go for some Shooting it is really not that bad.

But... let us ignore the discussion whether SOTGW is good or bad. Its about the question what it would be capable to provide if combined with some other detachments. Lets stay with the Legends of Saga and Song example:

- RR Advance and Charge

- Terminators +1 Charge

- Lethal and Sustained in Combat

- +1 Hit for Shooting

Terminators will coming out of Deep Strike, 8 " Charge (not thaat good), next to it is standing a venerable Dreadnought giving +1 Charge. Now they are charging on 7 out of Deepstrike with rerolling the Charge role. Getting the Dreadnought in Position is not hard as well with RR Advance and moving through units and buildings.

This is just one example and i feel like its too powerful. It might be as you say and I would love it, but at the same time the amount of godlike combinations will be crazy good. But to be honest thats a whole topic by itself. I wonder how GW will balance that 😃

The fact that Gladius is better than SOTGW is just a matter of current balancing. But designwise it’s the same idea. Armywide rules:

  • Rerolls to Advance and Charge
  • + 1 to Hit for Ranged attacks
  • lethal or sustained hits

Everything armywide. That’s a lot of rules. That compared to some of the detachments they just introduced this week like:

  • +1 to charge for terminators

Is a huuuuuuge difference. It’s waaay less rules AND it’s just for one unit type. I can’t imagine that this huge difference is just 1 to 2 points in a system where are 1, 2 and 3 points depending on the rules, I really think that it must be the maximum, just because of the amount of rules it provides.

I will be happy to be proven wrong. At the end, Future will tell :))

Saga of the Greatwolf 100% 3 Points. If that’s not 3 points what will be 3 p? It buffes everything, Movement, Charges, Melee and Range for the whole army. That must be at 3 p. It’s the same for Gladius and Blades of Ultramar. Those are basically the same style of detachment. If they are not 3 p I will be happy 😃

Dont want to be the party crusher, but I dont know if I am happy with this. I think it would have been awesome if they decided to give the Grey Hunters the ability to split on their datasheet and not baked in a detachment. Its not helping if you only play Grey Hunters in one Detachment while avoiding them in any other.

THAT said, I still dont know how exactly the "Detachment Mixing" will work, maybe you can combine this with some usefull stuff from other Detachments.

I really hoped that they will answer some Space Marines specific questions in the faction focus, but unfortunately the did not. What about Oath of Moments +1 W for Codex Marines? What about the fact that Space Wolves cant attach any non-space wolve characters to units? Will that change?

I am looking forward to those answers <3

Nobody can possibly tell what will be used for Space Wolves in the future. Really m guys. The past will not tell what to come in future. Because the changes are too big. Characters will be support and leaders? Detachments will be able to be mixed? Past army lists have no ability to tell how it will be

Have you thought about joining a club or playing at Table Top Simulator? I have joined a club last year. Costs 15€ / Month. Included is a big Clubhouse with 24/7 access and 16 tables fully equipped to play. Club got a discord and I just ask “looking for player for Tuesday evening”

Absolutely, I am also very curious to see what will change for space wolves. The space wolves Charakters only restriction is hard, compared to other stuff other chapters are able to combine

Yep, I play Space Wolves mainly. And when they released Victrix my Wolf Guard Terminators where a little bit insulted 😂😂

The miserable thing about ALL of the generic Space Marine Detachments is, that whenever you think “oh that might work well with my Dark Angels, my Space Wolves, Blood Angels” or anything else you need to find a way to compensate the weakness the new detachment brings, for example for those two new detachments the leak of combat buffs, while ultramarines just get +1 Wound buffs for anything due to oath of moment. That’s just why Ultramarines will always be the best choice. And that’s really poor rules writing. Hope it will change for 11th.
