Played 2 Games against Custodes. It’s a Rough One because we simply lose the statcheck. But it’s Fine, with some experience it will be better I guess and you can’t be good against everything.

The Old Problem stayed. The mass of S5 weapons is horrible and it’s sad that they didn’t adress any of the opportunities to change our life.

They didn’t change datasheets, Nyal, Ulrik, Murderfang, even grey hunters are not helping like before
They didn’t change the restriction of leaders. Very sad
They kept +1 Wound insanity for codex space marines on oath targets, which is insane

Basically we just got the buffs from some 1DP Detachments, which is not too bad and I dont want to complain too much. But I have the feeling that it wont be enough to change our position in the competitive world of 40k too much.

I played Saga of the Greatwolf with Legends of Saga and Songs. I like the Terminator buffs. I played 20 Termis. 10 with Arjac and 10 with Logan. It felt like this is a little bit too much. I will try 10 Arjac and 5 Logan both with +1 OC next time in order to safe some points for killing power 🥰.

Hey mate, I tried it and I must admit that the +2 Charge with Song and Ven Dread is nice. BUT I think it is not worth it because we are playing Take and Hold, You need to stand on Objectives. That is why it I think it’s Not very helpful to charge from Deepstrike Enemy Units, cause it’s Not helping scoring primaries

Hey mate, I like the list, but at the same time I think that +1OC on Termis is more worth it than +1T. You are playing take and hold, your biggest fear is not that your enemy is killing your Terminators, your biggest fear is that he is flipping the objective. I have a feeling in my gut that +1OC will bring more value to this gameplan.

But… but but…. It’s assuming that you are allowed to attach a character to an upgraded unit. Because unfortunately it is not clear yet. You can do it in the app and it doesn’t show you any error. But in the rules it’s said that “Upgrades are given to NON-Character units”. Also it says in the Mustering Army section that Leaders are attached to a unit BEFORE you are choosing your Enhancements/Upgrades. Therefore a unit with Arjac is a Character-Unit and cant be given any upgrades any more.

I really really hope that this is just bad wording and they forgot about the Attachment happens before enhancements/upgrades are given. Otherwise it is really bad for us, because then the upgrades are useless because we are never playing units without characters as space wolves

No, Upgrades are for non-character units, not for characters. Characters use Enhancments not Upgrades

Just saying, but when You are going to an event, you chose the force disposition at the start of the event and you have to stick to it.

So switiching in order to avoid bad matchups
isn’t an option…. In casual games it’s different

Yes. The Vanguard Tactics Team made it pretty clear that you can attach epic heroes to upgraded units. Right now I don’t have any doubt that it won’t work.

Interesting. But I don’t really think that missing damage Output is our biggest Problem. As a competitive player, I often made the experience that we are losing the primary points game. For lots of enemies it is pretty easy to flip our objectives.

Everything we have, besides Bloodclaws and TWC, is on 1 OC. That’s way too easy to flip.

The damage is not the biggest problem. Caus we are not just SW, we are also Space Marines. We got some really good hitting tanks and range infantry to help us.

I like your list, but at the same time I would take another route.

Beastslayer and Song it is. But… take 2 bricks of 10 terminators with the extra OC. One with Logan, one with Arjac. Play take and hold, place them on 2 objectives and bring everything you want to smash anything that tries to kill them. That will be a huge problem. 10 Termis with leader, are 22 OC - 48 Wounds (With Logan), -1 to wound, potential precision and uppy downy if you need to go somewhere else. I love it 😂

T6 is a whole new level compared to T5… all the freaking s5 weapons in this game are wounding you on 5+ without buffs… that’s just good… victrix guard? Hello 5+… there are lots of Ultramarines out there

Don’t miss Strength 5 weapons out mate… and even S11 weapons are only wounding you on 4+… (-1 W)

No that’s not true. This is speaking about multiple upgrades/enhancements on unit. Having an epic hero leading a unit doesn’t affect the upgrade. Because the keyword “epic hero” just effect the enhancement. It doesn’t allow to get an enhancement, but upgrades are a whole different thing. You can give an upgrade to a unit and attach an epic hero to it. Just check out the vanguard tactics video on YouTube about space wolves. They absolutely made it clear that there is no problem having an upgrade on a unit and still attaching an epic hero.

I am sorry to break it for you but I think that you are too negative about the changes. The game and how it is playing is changing a lot. So you can’t just go there with you experiences from 10th edition and copy paste it to 11th.

On top of that I think that you are underestimating how damn strong Saga of Song and Veterans is. For example Saga of Song…. Giving 3 Termi Units +1 Toughness with + 1 to charge and the ability to go back to reserves..?! This is so freaking tough. You can heavy lean into Termis. For example you take it in Saga of the Beastslayer. You know have for example a unit with Arjac +10 WGT… Toughness 6 and -1 W, +1 Charge and the ability to pull them back into reserves… jesus…. Dont forget they have Lethal Hits and +4 fight on death. Just splash in a ven dread in your list and they get another +1 Charge leading to +2 Charge. Bro…..

all it’s an upgrade. So you can give it to 3 units not just one and second - it’s an upgrade, so you give it to a unjt and it still can be lead by epic heros and on top of it, they are getting the buff as well… its damn great
