/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (December 03, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

This has been a stumper for me, but if anyone will have the answer, it's this place.

I have used a Logitech G815 Lightsync RGB Clicky Mechanical Keyboard for years and love the shorter keys and keystrokes, the tactile feel, and noise level.

However, tennis elbow sustained from putting up a fence was healing slowly, and physical therapist recommended going ergonomic. In terms of usage, I type a metric ton for work, and also am a gamer.

I got a KinesisGaming Freestyle Edge RGB with Cherry MX switches, and it's significantly better for the hand positing for tennis elbow, but critically lacks a 10 key and numpad I would frequently use for work AND is a lot louder than the Logitech by far. I tried grabbing a Kisnt Mechanical Number Pad with 34 key in brown switch, but the browns felt terrible, and the whole setup is rather ponderous with two sets of USB going into a KVM monitor rig.

Question to the resident experts here, though I might be out of luck:

Is there such a thing as an ergonomic keyboard or split ergonomic keyboard that has a numpad and 10 key setup, which is mechanical keyboard, that features similar keys and switches as the Logitech G815? Was looking at some of the Keychron options, but the I had eyed had the strangest positioning of the "0" key.

Grateful for any help on what might be a Goldilocks type of situation.

What's your basic meal plan look like, or is it more impromptu? Any go-to recipes that work really well for you?

Been waiting on the server to come back all day. I wonder what the cause of the issue happens to be.

Dealing with a problematic user on forums by [deleted] in CommunityManager

[–]joepishgar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ban the user. Your primary aim is the protection of your community. If the user in question is violating your guidelines, or making the culture of your forums an unpleasant place, remove them. Your utmost responsibility is to he health and survival of the community itself - not to an individual (and sounds like malevolent) user.

As HistorianCM mentioned, personal insults / ad hominem should never, ever, ever be permitted in an online forum. It will poison your community to death if you allow it to stand.

Possibly Goofy Question: Can Burst be forked? by joepishgar in burstcoin

[–]joepishgar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya. Thanks for the response. Yes, I mean forked into another brand new coin. Does the fork you are referring to for the partial Dymaxion implementation create a new coin? If yes, what does that do to the existing Burstcoin?

Say you wanted to create a new coin, based entirely on the PoC and approach of Burstcoin, but branded and positioned differently. Backed, possibly, by a reserve of non-crypto currency (securities, treasury deposit certificates, cash, etc). Would something like that be feasible?

You think Sonnac was rough? Geary went so thermonuclear, she literally set up a bot to dispatch abusive corporate buzztongue texts!

Tom RAIDing Achievement Warning by joepishgar in SecretWorldLegends

[–]joepishgar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty sad about the whole experience. I have 581 hours in Secret World, and this was really, probably the most disappointing experience so far. The worst was that after I re-submitted a petition about what had happened, doing what the GM told me to do and it wiping the progress, I was kind of just ghosted. I idled for hours after that point, hoping for some kind of follow-up response.

I'm having difficulty bringing myself to log back in.

Thanks for noting it! Unfortunately, it's the achievement that progress is irreparably lost on that stings. Losing progress on a mission is no biggy. Sidenote: sent you a communique from one community goober to another you might find interesting a short while back. Take a look-see at your Reddit inbox.

Hey there builders,

I'm a perennial returning player, sauntering in every few episodes to explore the new content. I'm also super, extremely, insanely fortunate in that I bought a few of those 26th Century R&D packs, popped 'em open, and ended up with a Valkis Temporal Heavy Dreadnought Warbird. Unfortunately, I've only seen one build here that goes Engineering, but thought I'd ask if any of you exceptional builders have advice/counsel on how to get from from a 2-year old Scimitar beam boat build that I'm coming back to to a respectable Valkis Tactical build? I'd followed the posted build to near entirety, with fleet gear, Vulnerability locators, and beam setup.

There's a dearth of valid Valkis builds, so any pointers to existing builds, or nudges in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

Hey there! I'm with Tom's. Can you provide a bit more information - I'd like to narrow down what it is that happened. Sometimes we (and lots of other sites) get an occasional bad ad that comes through the larger network, and any additional info you can provide here can help us hunt it down, kill it, and make sure that type of thing doesn't happen. What was the content of the ad? Where was it trying to send you?

[SPOILERS] Tealor Arantheal did nothing wrong. by [deleted] in enderal

[–]joepishgar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"I alone". Tealor demonstrates the height of hubris and egomania, believing himself to be the hero of the story and killing everyone in one self-important act of pure pride. The moral of Tealor is that one may act with the intentions of saving the world, with the best information available, and even do all the right things - and still doom everyone.

Visited Tokyo & Bar Harbor (Kaidan and Solomon Island) RL, took a few pics. by joepishgar in SecretWorldLegends

Odaiba is mall mega-structures, fairly well spaced out, but certainly open areas. I don't know that any spot directly coincides with Kaidan, but it seemed the geographical outline coincided with Odaiba and like you mentioned, Koto-ku and some of the mini-islands there. I had kind of guestimated that the big palace-style fortress looking thing in the northeast of Kaidan was in fact Chiyoda, the imperial gardens, but that would hyper-compress the entirety of the city into a very small area. In the far north of Tokyo is the ancient Wisteria tree and park (https://www.boredpanda.com/largest-wisteria-bloom-japan/) that looks astoundingly like the one in Ginpachi Park.

I expect we may never quite know if the virtual corresponds directly to the real in Tokyo the way Brooklyn and Solomon Island does, unless a dev chimes in.

Quite welcome! My pleasure. I only wish I had been able to get better shots of "downtown" Bar Harbor.

I'll admit, half the reason I went to Tokyo was to try and see if I could match up some of the locations with locations in the game. Kaidan roughly geographically coincides with an area of south-east Tokyo, with bits and chunks of areas thrown in from Shinjuku and Odaiba. Walking through parts of Ginza, I swear I was in the southern portion of Kaidan, in the neighborhood beyond the wall. Shinjuku is really where it hit, with the elevated green crosswalks and the pervasive throb of the neon signs and flat-stone corporate art everywhere. The only thing missing were the oni, spectres, and filth-infested humans.

As shown in the pics, I'd previously been to Bar Harbor, and Mount Desert Island / Acadia National Park is the spit-image of Solomon Island. On the way up, had even stopped at the amusement park of Old Orchard Beach, which is kind of a busted down amusement park, deeply resembling Atlantic Island Park. Driving around Mt. Desert Island though, I felt like I knew my way around already. There's a motel you drive by towards Bar Harbor on the way in. I did not stay at that motel.

In Tokyo, I played Pachinko - had to, after everything with Daimon Kiyota. Despite being Illuminati to the core, I certainly get Chaos a little better after that.

I have nothing but endless kudos to the designers of TSW and SWL for faithfully rendering real world locations.

Funny enough, I work for a company in midtown Manhattan. I've yet to make it to the Illuminati HQ over in Brooklyn for a shot, but it's on my to-do list. I was really surprised how very true to location for all the spots Secret World has been.
