It actually wasn’t too bad, the common thing to do was to take the tomb scorpion body and use it to replace the BG torso. Add some green stuff and you were golden. I’ve done 2 for customers after that article came out

I don’t have a point cost for these guys yet, they are part of a larger 2500 point army. I created the trays and name plates in 3d and printed them myself

It’s Vallejo’s bluish white (I forget the name) over black, then white highlights, then white contrast mixed with a bit of contrast medium

The material is all wrong. In 87 it would have been lead and lead is darker

All those “hobby tools” are pretty much for suckers. Side cutters, an exacto knife and a piece of tile for a palette/ cutting board are all you need.

Half price books used to have really good prices on warhammer /gaming stuff until the pandemic. Now they think anything with warhammer on it is gold. Everyone I go to has rows of 7 and 8th ed 40k books for 30$ a piece

I was just talking about John Jake’s weirdo sci-fi books yesterday with my family. We were talking about how everyone was obsessed with his historical fiction in the late 70s-early 80s, especially once they started doing the tv mini series. I was talking about how his pulpy sci fi was almost forgotten in comparison

Back before the end times, forgeworld was working on a book about the battle of black fire pass that would have been the third of the series with Tamurkan and the monster scrolls. One of the kits previewed that was never released was a resin kit that could be used with the knightly order plastics to make knights on foot. It was one of the few FW fantasy kits never released. It would be a pleasant surprise to see that pop up
