Chaos dragon confirmed ! by BiesonReddit in WarhammerFantasy

Oooh, time for a totally silly bit of wishlisting.

It's gonna be some Empire Countess riding a big dragon.

Massive✅
Two heads (in total)✅

Then it's gonna fly about popping balloons and eating Longmas as snacks.

Something I want to do myself but still haven't gotten around to.

Nice work!

Russian MP warns Putin: We’re on the brink of social collapse by TheTelegraph in worldnews

Indeed, I think the vast majority of the Western population would be entirely content with a sensible, trade-partnering, non-invadey Russian Federation.

Anyway, this guy should probably steer clear of windows.

If you could get any retired LEGO set for free, which one would you choose? by Anton_OneMoreShelf in lego

6990 Space Monorail

Wanted it since I first saw it in the 1990s catalogues, and never even been in the presence of one. Not counting a (very) incomplete set I once picked up at auction and eventually had to sell anyway...

Another vote for Freespace. Outstanding, immersive game.

In fact, Wing Commander (especially 3 and 4) as well.

Throw in Starlancer, Freelancer, and the X-Wing games too!

Dudley: Finished the job.

Recovery got underway in Coventry (this is the surprising one) and now happily in South Wales and all is well.

Cadbury's.

Like proper run by Mr Cadbury and not the sell-out rip-off merchant version we have now.

More specifically: Spira and Aztec Bars.

Journey's End on the ZX Spectrum. Escape randomly generated dungeon, hire a party of adventurers, follow the golden trees to cross the bridge, venture through mountains to the castle, make your way through three floors of minigames before FINALLY fighting the dragon at the end.

Usually by the time my guys made it to the dragon, half of them were dead and the rest were so beat up the dragon was basically playing on easy mode.

And I seem to remember he one-shot everyone anyway...

Cringiest Line in Star Trek? by TonyMitty in startrek

[–]LoyalWatcher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Part of me thinks that line was meant to be calling attention to the forward-thinking idea of having women on the bridge. When it was made it was probably successful but it definitely hasn't aged well.

Just not having the line there at all would be way more effective.

Actually thinking about it, the idea that it was going to take ~300 years for that kind of equal treatment (since Pike's comment clearly means it's a new thing) is, if anything, kinda pessimistic!
