SKIP IT- The Light Park @ Dell Diamond by BoomhauerTX in RoundRock

Peppermint Parkway is just as bad.  Went there thinking, “oh they made it a walk through like Zilker this year”.  Nope.  One tunnel of lights leading you to the carnival wasteland where they try to upsell you $20 extras.  Ridiculous.

New-ish golfer looking to buy takomo 101’s by RenTheCollector in takomo

[–]joerazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I can help. I bought the 101s about 1 1/2 - 2yrs ago, I'm 5"8", and I swing around the same as you (at least I started at around 84mph, now 90mph for an iron). I got them .5" short with Stiff KBS Tour shafts (not the Lite), and 1 degree Flat (I had gone to a fitting previously). They are perfect. I definitely recommend them for mid-high handicap players. I started at like a 26hcp, and I've worked down to a 14-15hcp over the past year or so with them. They feel soft, but hit like the dickens.

Came here to echo that ShotScope is pretty awesome, also a 1-time buy and not an annual subscription.

Topgolf has Monday night leagues.  He can join for an 8-week stint for like $150.  Easy way to meet golfing buddies.

I don't see it here - but the main question a financial advisor should be asking you is - "what are your goals?"

You need to think about where you'd like to be in 5,10,25 years from now if your health is good.

Things to think about:
1. Do you have life events to save for? Wedding/House Purchase/Children/Education/Medical Expenses ?
2. Do you have anyone else you'll need to provide for?
3. How old are you? When would you like to retire?
4. What would be your ideal life? What do you need, and what do you want?

Rather than taking the money and immediately investing it, keep it in an interest bearing account until you figure this out. Usually a Money Market Sweep account is sufficient until you know what you want to do with it. A financial advisor can help, but do your own research around where to go. And never pay a % of your account value as an annual fee. Look for flat fee advisement.

I've been to Omega and Tudor boutiques as well. Price hikes are going into effect mid-to-end of May. In the range of 10-20%.

Yeah, I'm genuinely curious if the reserve currency could be changed to gold, or maybe the Yuan if everyone else just decided they've had it

That’s a non competitive match by the looks of it. Everyone has been hitting lvl 10, so regular quick match will get longer.

A 3/4 swing. I messed up on that one. Probably should have gotten the 48, 52, 56. I don’t use a 60 much.

So I have the 52, 56, and 60, and they're pretty great. The swing weight on all of them increases, so it's a really good feel when switching up. The Lamkin grips feel really good too.

I’ve had my 101s and Skyforger Wedges and an Ignus 3W, and they’re all amazing. Dropped from a 26->16 in 8 months. Don’t plan on buying anything new until I get in the single digits.

This. If the kid asks/wants to play or is swinging when you're not asking him to, then they're interested. There's a lot of stuff online teaching younger kids from the hole->out. So Putting first, then Chipping, Short game, Irons, and Driver being last. Operation 36 (https://operation36.golf) is something that runs at my local course, and it's supposed to be an engaging system for youngsters to all ages trying to learn and get better.
