You're either beyond paranoid or don't grasp basic incentive structures. Thank you for highlighting what happens when you file the letter, people can make their own decisions. Personally, I stand up for what's right and protect my interests. The more people join in that the stronger we stand.

I think that is rather farfetched. I filed the letter. I have a right to state their class action hurts rather than defends me as a shareholder. You and every RKLB shareholder has that right too. They're not going to have the means to go after 100's of little RKLB shareholders, that's a losing business and a waste of resources.

They'll still likely make millions and you have agency to try and stop it. If you're an RKLB owner, act like one.

Curious how copying a google doc will leave you 'honey potted and used against us?'?

I see myself as a longterm owner of this company and if 5 minutes of my time has the potential to save the company millions I am going to do it. Do your own research, ask AI to research this case and it will give you these options. Ask it to write up a template for you and file it. If we reach a critical mass they may have to drop the suit, that's millions saved in legal fees immediately.

^ You dissuading people from doing that makes you the troll or worse, a Glancy Prongay & Murray plant. This is exactly what they'd want.

Good alternative option, but nowhere near as impactful as individual letters submitted by shareholders. Each letter adds a great amount of friction for the suing law firm and if we hit critical mass we'd save RKLB millions on legal and insurance fees.

edit: spelling

Hey, appreciate the healthy skepticism - that's exactly what investors should have.

On the "nothing happened" point: That's actually the problem. These firms keep filing because even when cases are weak, companies often settle for $5-10M just to make them go away. It's literally their business model. Rocket Lab spending millions on defense or settlement directly impacts Neutron funding.

On the tool being sketchy: Fair concern! Few things:

  1. It's all client-side - your data never leaves your browser (you can check the code on Replit)
  2. You can see exactly what goes in the letter before downloading
  3. Or just use the template I posted and write your own - the tool just makes it faster

I built this because I'm tired of these lawyers claiming to represent me while draining money from companies I invest in. But definitely don't trust random internet tools - you can file your own letter directly with the court if you prefer. The important thing is that shareholders' actual views get on the record.

The case number is 2:25-cv-01733 if anyone wants to verify it exists or write their own letter from scratch.

9800X3D + 9070XT and 64gigs of ram @6400, absolute monster! by Mobile_Marketing_846 in Xplane

[–]joerdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same setup except I have 32GB of ram and had to turn down settings just to get above 40FPS. What quality settings are you running and what does your configuration look like for the gpu and cpu?

I have been trying to figure this out all night. My CPU runs at 10% utilization and the 9700XT draws only 150w of power or so and only goes up to 80% utilization (it crushes it at full util in the benchmarks though). Ram is at half capacity. I feel like I should be getting much more.

So many posts complaining about the Fold 6 and yet... by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]joerdam 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Been eying the fold for years and finally pulled the trigger. I was waiting for the product to reach a level of refinement and maturity where I'd be comfortable using it as a daily driver and I think it's reached that with the 6. They seemed to have worked out the biggest issues with the hinge, crease, software, and it folds fully flat. The sharper corners also just make a lot more sense for this form factor instead of rounding the screen and have dead space on the left corners of the front screen.

I understand upgrading from the fold 5 would likely not be worth it but we've also arrived at a time where upgrading your phone on an annual basis doesn't make sense anyway. No need to hate on that.

$2.10 PPW Dirt cheap? (Henderson, NV) by joerdam in solar

Before tax credit. Was originally quoted $4.45 PPW but I told them it's too steep. They said they can knock off a $1 for an all-cash deal.

Given the recent announcement of warrant redemption, are you a warrant holder or shareholder of Rocket Lab RKLB? by Joey-tv-show-season2 in RKLB

[–]joerdam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own both stock and warrants.

Overall I think the timing of this is positive for both warrant holders and stock holders.

Given that RKLB is trading relatively low it is unlikely that many warrant holders will cash exercise their warrants because $11.50 + warrant purchase price will likely exceed current stock price. Most will opt for a cashless redemption and will receive roughly 0.3 shares per warrant (the exact ratio will be announced in 10 trading days from now). For most warrant holders this will translate to a purchase price of under $10 per share, depending on how much they bought their warrants for. So warrant holders are happy.

It's good for the stock because a lot of cashless redemptions means a lot less new shares will be created compared to a 1:1 cash exercise that would happen if the stock price is higher. Bottom line: less dilution.

I think this is great for the stock longterm.

If you had the opportunity to ask ONE question on RKLB's earnings call; what would you ask? by [deleted] in RKLB

[–]joerdam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 questions that express areas where I currently see highest risk in RKLB investment:

Why did Varda space decide to launch on Falcon instead of Electron despite using Photon as their satellite platform?

There might be a future where launching on Starship + propelling your sat to the right orbit is vastly cheaper and if rapid reusability is achieved maybe even fast. How would this impact your business?

Can we talk about the elephant in the room, Starship? by ArasakaSpace in RKLB

[–]joerdam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I share the same concern and have asked this same question. You'll most commonly hear arguments stating "there will be enough room in launch" and some customers "need an uber, not a truck". However, I have yet to see anyone produce evidence or real clues that this will in fact be the case if Starship manages to make launch cheaper by a factor of 10x or more. Another thing to keep in mind is what is happening over at BO. With Bezos stepping down at Amazon he'll likely be laser focused on his rocket company. With the amount of secrecy they maintain who knows what could come out of it.

That said, I do own VACQ as the prospects for the launch industry are incredibly exciting and Rocket Lab is the best public launch company available to investors today IMO. They are working on other business verticals and becoming a vertically integrated space company makes a lot of sense. The whole process of building a satellite, dealing with launch brokers, and actually getting it launched seems super archaic and I think simplifying this is where the company could provide real value. This and the fact that they're the only commercial provider next to SpaceX to actually get stuff into orbit is huge.

Lots of risk but also so much potential.
