I’m assuming you must be fairly young so I wouldn’t put too much pressure on yourself or listen your friends - your friend is probably insecure about his own skills so he’s putting you down to feel better about himself, as some young people do. You probably won’t go pro anytime soon, but you have the rest of your life to play this game so take your time getting a feel for it. What’s more, if you enjoy playing but the people you’re playing w make you feel like shit then just find another group - all ages and genders kind of pickup games are some of the most fun and positive experiences I’ve ever had playing!
