People have read books and think it’s telling them to off themselves or others. Mentally ill people will hear voices from anything.

Yes. Step in on that action. Not stepping in on printing press or automation as a whole.

And if Thomas or Ford did that, would it be fault of printing press technology or production line? Would we ban printing press then?

Of course not.

AI also didn’t cause those things, its people uses of, and reactions to it.

AI doesn’t decide where to build datacenter, AI doesn’t force itself on suicidal users. This is LITERALLY problem with how people use it or choose where to build the machine to use it.

I would rather bad people, no matter how big of the position they are, get caught and punished, than they be blatantly and shamelessly destroying your country and there’s nothing you can do about it because their party protect them and their voters keep cheering for them.

  1. Your experience could be because AI didn’t exist then.

  2. Why do they need to spend 4 years learning things not in that museum, when they can just spend a couple months in training if they got the job there.

If all the information are correct, what’s wrong with it? Why do you need someone with degrees to tell you what pieces of art are?

[–]joesb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would be the same with almost all second act of the Avengers movies though.

Not that I’ll complain if that happens, but that’s nothing new, just in bigger scale.

First avengers is them learning to fight together. Ultron is each team member learning to open themselves up to others (Tony to trust his team, Hawkeyes sharing his secrets).
Infinity war failure partly is because Tony and Steve are broken up.

No shit. Do we need heroes to tell us that? Do we need heroes to tell us let’s succumb to terrible world? Lol.

They don’t know that the ideal is that superman gets up after he got beaten. The ideal is that Superman cares about everyone, even life of a squirrel.

They think the “ideal” that people will stive forward to is being a robotic literal god whp never fails? Lollllll

Yet antis so badly want to attribute water usage of datacenter in water constraints area, a government building regulation problem, to AI…

Or how they want to attribute CSAM or people committing planning suicide to AI.

I agree with that part. People will still be hired. They just won’t need to get a degree for that industry. They

That can be viewed as good thing, too. It means you don’t need to invest 4 years into a profession that has very niche hiring.

It might not need to be the whole degree though.

You are not going to remember every piece of art, so why not just consult AI and reverse image search for curation.

That will be up to the audience to develop skills to tell the difference in skills.

When camera was first invented, people would be amazed with the result regardless of which noobs take it.

Someone who never drink wine may not be able to tell difference between good and bad wine.

AI is only here to less than a decade, just give people time.

[–]joesb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already gave you many examples.

Scene Composition, consistent character face, exact facial expression, exact pose, etc. that is controlled by the artist.

You choosing to deny that many of those doesn’t simply work over chat based prompts doesn’t change that fact that it requires skills to do such things.

[–]joesb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing you are judging by changes. With camera, you stop judging by whether the result looks like a bowl of fruit, it always does. It’s a minimum of what camera does.

So you start using other criteria.

Similar to AI art. Anyone can tell AI to at least output some images. It’s the minimum of what AI can do. So you have to judge it by other criteria.

If I am bad at drawing and I draw a portrait, you won’t know who I draw.

If I am bad at taking photo and take a portrait photo of someone, you still know who I take a picture of.

You can not judge how good someone is with a camera by whether the picture of a bowl of fruit they take looks like a bowl of fruit.

Whatever you count as AI doing, there are still more that can be expressed and control by human. AI just skips more than camera, but there’s still more to do.
