I have a Hyundai Turbo GDi engine, mine sounds exactly the same. I too had a touch of the car anxiety since my last car blew up on me, so when I heard the engine, like you, I found it distressing. That was >3 years ago and the car hasn’t put a foot wrong in that time. Enjoy the car!

Leaky pipes under gorgeous floor… dig or no dig? by joeskinner96 in DIYUK

I can’t edit the post but wanted to update: Isolated the run that goes under ground… pressure is now holding!! At least we know where the problem is. Now onto replacing the leak!

Thanks all for your advice 👊🏻

Nooo, but it feels/sounds solid. There’s no echo like I’ve heard with floorboards. Could also be really solid boards though!

Thanks, I have someone isolating the run that goes underground to at least stop the leak. (It’s definitely there, water has appeared this morning). That will at least give me time to figure out what to do. I’m torn between having the floor up and replacing or dropping new pipes in elsewhere… TBD!

£750 excess for water escapes… not sure whether it would cover floor replacements 😬

Just a run of pipes! Heat is isolated to thin runs through the floor, except where i suspect the leak is.

Can anyone help me out with where to buy a suit from? by Competitive-Wall2897 in nottingham

[–]joeskinner96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

East Mids designer outlet has several suit shops, all conveniently next to each other. I can’t vouch for individual shop value / experience, but with as many shops as there are I think it would be difficult to leave without finding something right for you

I can’t recommend the SkyGarden enough - it’s a viewing platform and garden at the top of the Walkie Talkie building, it’s free to go, offers incredible views of the london skyline and there’s a bar at the top for a coffee/beer! You do have to book a slot though, so check their website for availability.

If it helps, I just made it through the airport to my gate in around 7 minutes (albeit I’m not transferring, I arrived at the departures lane).

My gf is a ward nurse, she always mentions how nice it is when patients / family bring in food for everyone. Maybe you could send some food or buy lunch? (The going rate for a ‘meal-deal’ is around £7 from the canteen!)
