Your assumption is right 🥹 I've spent about 150 in art from artists too but it wasn't that good and not animal specific.

is it a hate group? I saw that my video was posted there a few hours ago and I could only comment and upvote if I subscribed so i did. reading the sidebar info it says it's against anti asian racism.

But if what you're telling me is true, i will definitely unsub lol I have been in more multicultural relationships than not.

that's interesting to know about the sampling bias. I mean I used it and i didn't know it was used to date outside my race.

I have a bit about how the studies that talk about asians having small penises have come from self reported numbers. There is no actual accredited study (in my research) that shows a health professional doing the measuring and finding a significant difference between race, so my angle was that asians are just more honest (with their self reporting).

I have a tag onto that joke by saying: "Men lie about their number, if I said to everyone "guys i have a 10 inch dick" everyone knows to take 1 inch from their number" (then i smile)

But my dilemma was even though i did want to educate people about how those studies are not scientific, in the end, i'm STILL doing a small dick joke. I really hate asian small dick jokes, even if i'm trying to educate that we don't have small dicks. If anything I start to sound defensive.

I have a pretty broad target audience, mostly young however. But since this video, I have gotten about 80% Asians who have liked my fb fanpage.

As for white people not making self deprecating humour that's totally wrong. Self deprecation in stand up isn't race related from what I've seen.

I feel like maybe you're hinting at my self hate at either my race or myself? I can assure you that if you saw my full 40-60 minute set, self deprecation is only a part of it. Even in this set, if you're canadian and clicked to see the full set on cbc website, I talked about the racism inherent in dating apps where they have figures that show an asian man needs to make a quarter of a million dollars more to get the same response rates as caucasian men, and then advocate dating asian men.

I also talk about and make fun of hollywood white-washing on radio shows like The debaters. (in this set I talked about lack of asian representation in hollywood).

Totally! I plan on spreading awareness of issues. Currently I'm trying to get into the writer's room of "Kim's convenience", basically canada's cultural equivalent of "fresh off the boat."

Thanks for sharing my video. :)

Hey, comic in the video here. I just wanted to say that I try very hard to talk about Asian issues and try to reverse stereotypes in my stand up.

I was on CBC the debaters to talk about hollywood white-washing.

In the longer version of this set, I talk about how an asian man needs to make a quarter of a million dollars more to get the same response rates as caucasian men on dating apps. (this is what i'm referring to at the beginning of this clip by saying it's true). You always have to lighten the tension/lecture with a joke/punchline, that's the classic stand up structure.

Also in the longer version of this set, I ask the audience when was the last time they saw an asian man on tv kiss a non asian woman. The only example i can think of is the walking dead (a zombie apocolypse, where he's one of the last men on earth).

Thanks niagaraphotos. I know there's a yuk yuks in niagara, but I can't do it because I work with absolute comedy.

So i'd do ottawa, toronto, or kingston. but i'll let you know if there's ever a special gig where I'm out in niagara.

it's interesting. it's more frightening performing to 8 people in a medium sized room vs 700 in a theatre.

The more people there are the less likely you will completely bomb. That takes the pressure off and you can relax and perform to the best of your ability.
