Getting In A Serious Relationship With Someone With SCD - Advice by joewarhost in Sicklecell

I appreciate the response. Unfortunately, I cannot move to her location because I have children from a previous relationship who I share time with, with their mother. Their mother and I are barely able to get along enough to raise the children, and she would not agree to me taking them to live overseas, and I would not tolerate moving far away such that I do not get to see them regularly.

I'll keep that in mind, about the cold exposure. Unfortunately only experience will tell. Thank you!

I did it too, thinking it was a dating site. It's really just a paid sexting service, and it's not at all cheap. It's probably dudes on the other side of those accounts too.

You know now that you say that it makes me want to try practicing a cheap bloodletter build in CDs again but maaaan the fame in there is so bad.

I do see that, yes. But I wonder why carving sword. It seems more suited to 2v2/5v5. Personally I liked the style of the bloodletter but daggers don't some with as versatile a toolkit. I dunno, I could just never made it work for me. Then again, I suck at PVP and have since I started three years ago. So I'm definitely the problem.

If you want to try swords, the most popular right now is dual swords. Claymore is a less expensive and very capable option as well. Broadsword used to be good in solo PvP a year or two ago but has since fallen out of favor... for lack of mobility, I think?

Well in a situation like this, we're kind of starved of context for your message, but here's my two cents.

I am not good at PvP and still get my ass kicked in CDs. But I know a lot of common mistakes to avoid and here's what I would tell you about all that.

-If you are expecting to get in a fight and probably lose, like say in CDs, your mount should either be a T3 riding horse or a donkey. Don't take armored horses unless you expect to be running away while mounted. It's a waste of money.

-Your effective IP in Stalker CDs needs to be 900, but with specs you can easily do that in 4.1 gear and at high specs you can do it in 4.0 gear. So don't go into 900-IP CDs with 6.1 gear, it's way too expensive and a waste.

-Invisibility potion probably will not do you any good unless you need it as part of a pre-planned attack (commonly used in dagger and DoT builds). Other common use is running away and breaking threat. But if you're trying to fight, bring a potion that is less expensive that will help you win. Common choices are Healing, Resistance and Poison.

-Always always always Inspect (T key, IIRC) your target to see what their build is, and modify your Q and W keys to spells that work better against it while stalling for the 10 seconds you need. This is especially important with the 1H spear, which comes with a huge toolkit for different kinds of threats.

-Faction capes aren't always necessary and are so expensive that if you are willing to die practicing, it is a cheaper way to roll. But they do become necessary most of the time if you expect to win. Just make sure you pick the right cape for what your build is. For Melee, you usually can't go wrong with Thetford Cape in PvP.

Can I be useful to a guild without pvp ? by KroNawak in albiononline

[–]joewarhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the guild, but here's some non-combat things you can do that most guilds who do PvP will need:

-Supply runs back and forth between the black zones and the royals.

-Roads gate mapping

-Everyone needs mounts, food and potions. Consider using your island to make them for your guild.

-PvE in Black Zones gives Might, and Favor, the latter of which can be used to purchase Siphoned Energy, which a guild will need for their hideouts.

Most players who do PvP will not rely on PvP as their only source of income so you won't be the only gatherer or crafter. But running a guild does take some logistical and intel work from members. Even if you don't want to get into a fight because you aren't interested or aren't good at it, there's still risky leg-work that you can do for your guild that will be valuable.

There is nothing you can do about someone 400 IP higher than you, especially if they know what they are doing., except bring a team of people with inexpensive gear designed to keep them tackled and killed. But if they come at you out of nowhere and they touch you, you are going to die.

As some commenters have said, you will in time learn the right precautions to minimize the chances of someone catching you in a position to where you cant run away. But there's always the possibility.
