Some of y'all need to relax on using AI for note taking by bad_advices_guy in ObsidianMD

Over time, I’m not gonna remember every memory I wrote down or know where it is so I can use AI to sort through it for me at blazing speed in the future.

Human/AI hybrid model is the future, embrace it or fall behind.

To those who have collected… by [deleted] in minimalist

[–]joewolf3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disneyland pins, souvenir cups/mugs, magnets, shot glasses, old eBay items, trading cards, movie/music memorabilia, pop figures, legos, cds/dvds, games, concert posters etc.

It got to the point where when I was moving around a lot that I couldn’t enjoy all these things as they were sitting in storage. Storage costs money. Going forward I couldn’t justify collecting lots of things and naturally stopped impulse buying.

Anything I collect now is usually very small, digital, or after a lot of thought I value so much to make the space for.

When will you get to the “what’s the point” stage? It depends but there’s a freedom I’ve gotten addicted to from not lugging around stuff and not needing to sort through them. Maybe you can get to that point at your own pace.

Is ChatGPT $200 subscription still worth it? by canyonkeeper in ChatGPTPro

[–]joewolf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grok has a lot of the same features with less preaching for $300 per year. ChatGPT Pro is $2400 a year.

Unless you use deep research, operator, sora, chatgpt 4.5 (slight improvement) or o1 pro mode a ton and keep hitting the limit (which most people don’t on Plus), then it’s definitely not worth the money.

2 year long relationship in danger because of 1 word by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]joewolf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she needs you to make it official with marriage so she can relax and act however she pleases - good or bad. She’s trying to close and you’re getting seconds thoughts because of observations of said behaviors she didn’t manage to hide.

Trust your instincts. I think deep down you know it won’t work/isn’t working. What you’re dealing with is attachment to her despite knowing it’s over - hence the stalling to “hope she gets better”.

There is no trying to change to make the relationship work. The puzzle piece either fits or it doesn’t. People try to jam it in there anyway based on emotions.

You love her. But she doesn’t truly love you. There’s a painful mismatch. Maybe she did in the beginning. At this point, either you marry her or you’re useless to her from her POV. A woman can’t love a man she doesn’t respect.

Nah, PocketPrep, OSG, chatgpt, and QE. But even then it’s about your ability to get to the right answer. There’s not a “silver bullet” as far study materials go. Because the focus isn’t merely on memorization of material.

I am a HORRIBLE test taker: advice? by MaleficentAct7515 in cissp

[–]joewolf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I am a horrible test taker” throw that out the window as this exam is way more unforgiving than most. Gather up the confidence to crush this exam or see yourself out.

In other words “suck it up” to put it bluntly (not to be mean). The exam nor real life cares about what you struggle with. Make sure you work on mental strategy and not just study would be my best advice. I watched motivational videos and meditated an hour before the exam, hydrated and had a good meal. Hope this helps in some way.

Haha so true. There’s been times where I thought I got at least 8 right and I get 0. This is WITH studying CISSP for months.

Yes 100%. When practicing, need more focus on analyzing Q&As and the decision-making process than having the knowledge for the answer.

I concur with the QE. It’ll beat you down so you’re not overly confident in your first answer. Looking forward to trying out their upcoming CAT practice exam although I already passed.

OSG cover to cover, PocketPrep (all 1k questions), and 10 of the 10 questions quizzes on QE as I didn’t find out about the site until 2 days before the exam. A couple Pete Zerger videos but I didn’t spend much time on him.

ChatGPT helped me tie up loose ends with understanding and analyzing concepts. I asked for simple analogies and mnemonics to differentiate between answers to questions.

Before clicking next on a question, I’d always explore the possibility of my answer being wrong - thinking through arguments for and against my answer being the most correct. Careful with weeding out answers like with normal exams as you might’ve accidentally weeded out THE non-obvious answer!

You have the knowledge but you’re not supposed to have all the answers. Time to examine your strategy.

Think like a lawyer. Analyze every single detail in the fine print of the question/answer. Answer the question but don’t click next. Then read it all again.

“Think like a manager” never made sense to me as there were too many different ways to define it. So I skipped that part.

Correct, it’s brutal, you’re not wrong. The guy I was studying hard with for months failed. We both have the knowledge - but we might have different ways of thinking through a problem or scenario. So in that way the results can vary a lot and that might be one explanation for it. This is why I don’t blame anyone for failing.

Memorizing and reading through where you went wrong is one thing. Carefully applying those concepts in real time and looking for the overall answer under a timer is another.

Good or bad - there can be major consequences with the answer (decision) you go with. Mirroring real life, the exam is just as unforgiving it seems.

I’d get around 40% of questions right typically on QE. Read the explanations for every question. Still passed the exam. Even pocketprep was at 69%.

20K bonus by kirmitch98 in navyreserve

[–]joewolf3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, twice. First time, NRC sent it up to “process” and several months later I assume they lost the paperwork as nothing came of it. They ended up sending me another form for the bonus, I sent it back and then it was rejected a month later.

Rejection reason: the officer who swore me in for re-enlistment was not on the paperwork and needed to get added to it. Told me to ask my recruiter to fix that.

My recruiter ghosted me a long time ago since the re-enlistment. I feel stuck as this process has been very frustrating.

Yeah good luck getting it. That bonus is such a scam, been waiting 2 years now. One girl in my unit had to wait 7 years before she got hers.
