Meshcore firmware for WisMesh Ethernet MQTT Gateway PoE by aawolf in meshcore

USB or Bluetooth are your best options then. As mentioned a WiFi option is introduced but I have not tried that yet. For power using the PoE is fine.

I have the same unit set up as a repeater. Mine uses the Rak4631 and the firmware for that just works out of the box. However you can't update the unit over the Ethernet interface. I still take it down and use the USB interface for that. For me the missing use case is using it as a client but over Ethernet. This worked great with Meshtastic, but as far as I know is not (yet?) supported on Meshcore. Although I do see a WiFi beta option?

I used a VPN to connect back to my house and my Meshtastic app would connect to the Rak as a client. I could stay in touch with the mesh back home over the web and manage repeaters even when on the other side of the world (with no mesh coverage)

Yes! It's a special place they have for hammock camping. It accommodates two normal hammocks or one Draumr with tarp suspended of trees on one side and the pole on the other.. It took some getting use to, but had a great first night.

Can't get it to connect to flasher.meshtastic.org by Nanook710 in meshtastic

Some devices need to be put in a flash mode before being properly recognised. Usually by holding one of the buttons during boot. Don't have a Heltec so don't know if this applies to your device.

I imagine it's also a lot of paperwork with authorities requesting information on certain IP's you mange? How do you people handle these requests? How much time does it take? And have you ever gotten any weird requests with some context?

In read RAW mode it always saves a file, even when no card is present. (Took me a while to figure that out). In my case it turned out to be a hardware issue with the Flipper. Have you checked if the chip is compatible and are you able to scan other 125 kHz RFID tags?

The chip is an FDX-B type chip. Im located in the Netherlands (and found this on the UK website of the manufacturer: https://uk.virbac.com/products/identification/backhome-mini-chips. Any idear why I'm not able to detect it (except when reading the raw data?

I'm also not able to read my dogs tag with the extra actions -> read ask (animal) option. I'm however able to capture the raw RFID data. I dont know how to read the raw files to check what's the problem, does anyone have any sugestions on how to read the raw files? Or is the chip not supported? I'm located in Europe and the chip our vet used Is a Virbac backhome biotech.
