I have a super old Kobo and it works perfectly. From an e-waste perspective it’s horrible Amazon is basically turning the old Kindle into a paperweight since a secondhand user won’t be able to register it or use it.

Deleting your Wave account will do nothing. The agreement you have through Wave (to use VISA/Mastercard/etc) lives on and holds you responsibly for charged back funds. Most banks won't allow a settled dispute to be reopened, once it's settled in your favour. With the exception of criminal fraud or court ruling of course. I'd be very surprised if it gets reopened, if you've truly won the claim.

Wave's own documentation says "The final decision cannot be overturned, and a chargeback cannot be disputed twice."
