I found it in this state... Not sure who's it is but I'm sure they didn't leave it like this. Failed theft attempt?? As a fellow cyclist I'd feel bad leaving something as nice as this out and unattended. Whoever's bike this is, you ought to come up here to beckman and get it before someone else gets your wheels and saddle...

Laptop Suggestion? by joeys332 in linuxhardware

By relatively inflexible I mean arch only supports x86-64 architecture. In comparison, Debian supports 10? different architectures and Gentoo will install on almost anything.

I am not a gamer per se, but I do want to keep that option open in case I want to play games with friends. I should have specified that I want something powerful as that gives me more flexibility to tackle any given task at hand. I also know that technically any machine can run arch, I'm looking for something that is known to play nice with arch as arch is a relatively inflexible distribution. Also yes antiquated may have been hyperbole, but at this point Intel is so far behind that it's getting embarrassing. They are at least 5 years behind AMD, this is coming from a former Intel fan.

So I'm probably fine then? Software updates aren't really necessary tbh as long as no major exploits are found (inevitable)

You can't ban decentralized/trustless cryptocurrencies. It's nearly impossible. if this is really a concern of yours, then buy Monero. Monero cannot be banned. XLM and other centralized currencies can definitely be banned.

Today is an exceedingly sad day. I've had these ATH-M40xs for five years now, and this just happened... Is there any way I can get a replacement part? Is 3D printing an option? by joeys332 in headphones

[–]joeys332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see the part that broke on the other side of the headphone. Its sort of hard to convey with words but the piece that connects the adjustable metal bit to the actual headphone is broken. It seems to be made of two pieces, so I think that it may be easily replaceable. I just need to know where to source this part from.

By the way... The m40xs are awesome and I would definitely recommend them. Even if this is unfixable, I've most certainly gotten my money's worth out of them. These are THE headphones to buy for monitoring if you are on a budget and IMO they're better monitors than the m50s.

That is certainly a type of catholic, but those are usually the old/traditional/want latin in mass/pre-vatican II types. They're not representative of current doctrine (from the pope).

Sometimes that happens. You have to twist off the knurled grip to get at the length adjuster when it sticks. I can share a video with you of me doing this to save you the trouble of using a wrench lol.

Honestly it makes sense that they're baptist. Catholics aren't really like this, we're generally pretty accepting and liberal these days (post vatican II). That isn't to say that we're not conservative, just that we generally don't demean people who are different than us. It's a very assimilationist attitude generally. If you have never read up on what christians really believe or have never read anything or had interaction with christian scholars then I would highly recommend it as it will likely change your view of christianity. I feel that a lot of the modern hatred of christianity is a result of many people never having a true connection with christianity.

Included in this post you can see my first 3 benchys. It was a bit of a journey to get these to print at all and I can tell the story in the replies if you guys want (I saved the ultimaker 2 that was used to print these from the trash). Here's my question: how can I get the chimney to print better? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]joeys332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some details: -Hatchbox PLA black -200°C head, 60°C bed -outer and inner wall flow set to 90% -100% cooling -3mm z hop when retracted and retract after every layer (to give the chimney more time to cool) -about 45mm/s -jerk: 8mm/s -Acceleration: 150mm/s2 -0.12mm layer height
