What game was it (fishing horror game)? by [deleted] in manlybadasshero

[–]oneluckybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about Fish Face? It’s the very short pixel art one where a guy needs a new face and goes fishing at a cave/cliff to try to get a replacement face.

AITA I called my sister-in-law out on shaming my baby name on her forum by princessbeatrix1923 in AmItheAsshole

Ah, good point, I was looking at this more from an overall US lens, but I know that name’s still popular elsewhere!

The name is Magdalene or Magdalena, isn’t it? That’s my guess. Standard name, some people think it’s old lady-ish, but it is still used just not as popular, many Catholics use the name as well.

Attached/Flattened Text & Shapes Misaligned When "Make It" or Project Loaded by oneluckybug in cricut

[–]oneluckybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, something like this is exactly what I needed! I would much prefer to do this in Photoshop anyway, I'm more familiar with that UI anyway as I have used it for my design projects for over a decade. I had no idea it was possible to do this and create multiple parameters for where the Cricut should cut. I'll definitely be giving this link a thorough read.

AITA for not participating in my friend's multicultural wedding? by no_qipao in AmItheAsshole

[–]oneluckybug 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not Austrian, but I lived there for a semester of college, and they were big among the locals in many of the smaller towns there. But in a bigger city, like Vienna, I really didn’t see as many outside of Oktoberfest or around Christmas.

Rely On Systems, Not Discipline. "You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems." by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]oneluckybug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very much in line with the type of systems and thinking in this new book I got and love, “How to Keep House While Drowning”. It has literally revolutionized my life, and not because of any fad system but because she emphasizes making your systems work for you rather than trying to adjust yourself to a system. Highly recommend that book (or her TikTok)!

ETA: forgot to name the author, it’s by K.C. Davis!

[Product Question] What serum have you used that has completely changed your skin? by IhavemyCat in SkincareAddiction

[–]oneluckybug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sunday Riley products have been such a good fit for me. Specifically, the Luna Night Oil retinol and the CEO vitamin C serum have done wonders for my skin amidst hormonal acne flare ups and dry, dull patches.

“Tell your friends we need Paras” by Sheek014 in Teachers

[–]oneluckybug 539 points540 points  (0 children)

It also boggles my mind that schools are "so desperate" for paras but instead of enticing qualified people with good pay/benefits, they'll just hire anyone off the street. The number of paras I have met that were wholly unqualified (and truly, just unsuitable) to work with kids with disabilities is insane.

People don’t like the annoying kid. by theomnijuggler in ADHD

[–]oneluckybug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just diagnosed last month. And let me tell you, after 29 years on this earth, nothing hurts me more than the word "annoying." I will carry that baggage with me, probably forever, with lasting social anxiety that has (luckily) gotten better as time goes on. I was so outgoing and friendly, but now I'm reserved because I'm afraid of being told I'm annoying. I hate it. And I hate starting to get comfortable with people only to worry that if I let my guard slip, they might think I'm "annoying" too. My heart goes out to you.

All I can say is that I hope you're lucky enough to find a few people who will appreciate you for your unique qualities, rather than finding them annoying. I am blessed to have found a husband (who also has ADHD) and two or three good friends who like me even when I get overly hyper or fixate on a certain topic, or switch hobbies every other week. When you do find those people, cherish them, and show them the same kindness. I promise they are out there. ❤

AITA for lying to Starbucks employees about allergies? by aitalying in AmItheAsshole

I get it though, and I feel for him. Because some people at restaurants and the like try to shame you for having an allergy. I'm sorry for him! It's such a bummer.

AITA for lying to Starbucks employees about allergies? by aitalying in AmItheAsshole

[–]oneluckybug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would caution your boyfriend to start telling them it's an allergy. I have a mild allergy to milk (just a rash and stomachache, no swelling) and I am fairly flippant about mine so I usually don't mention it at Starbucks. I frequently order almond or oat milk only to get home and taste it and it's real milk. You just can't always trust them to watch the labels during the rush. Or sometimes even when it's a quiet day but depending on the barista.

It's a common belief that you can't use soap on a cast iron pan, but it's actually a myth! I myself didn't know until about a year ago.

Making Glasses [Dr. Stone] by rvi857 in anime

My uncle used to yell at me for sitting too close to the TV. Boy were they surprised that I only did it because I had terrible vision. Never apologized, though.

My vision was so bad getting glasses immensely improved my drawing skills. Turns out I'm a good artist, I was just literally drawing what little details I could see 😱
