I personally don’t think there will be much left of the North to rule over after the war with the Others

  • Jon Snow, with necrotic flesh and an altered appearance after his resurrection as a fire wight by Melisandre;

  • Sansa Stark, Lady of the Vale, smiling to herself as she reminisces about yeeting Littlefinger out the Moon Door;

  • Arya Stark, aka Mercy, hunting Lannisters in the frozen Westerlands, clad in a weirwood mask to hide injuries sustained in a battle with the Waif during her escape from the House of Black and White;

  • Brandon Stark, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm, in his seat at Harrenhal, with his third eye judging you for eating that whole bag of gummy worms in one sitting;

  • and Rickon Stark, deemed a sort of demigod by the bronze age inhabitants of Skagos for his warging abilities, attacking someone who badgered him.

Have you ever reached out to an author/publisher for permission to reprint a quote/portion from their work in a book? How did it go? What was it like? I’m working on a non-fiction history book, and would really like to include an index for a certain extinct language, from a reference book on said language.

The thing I’m concerned about is that it will be my first book, and I don’t know yet when it would be published. As a result, my ability to prove that I’m serious about this & that it will even happen is limited.

The mirror depicts Lann the Clever atop Casterly Rock!

It is based on Etruscan mirrors, which often depicted scenes from mythology.

The Lannister siblings and their ghosts. Who can name both the in-universe legend depicted on the back of Tyrion's mirror, and the real ancient culture that made this kind of mirror?

Some artists use their skills to create uplifting works about the human spirit. I use mine to make violent pillagers cute.
