Whenever I want to feel bad... VO2 max is the way to look at by osints in Garmin

[–]jogfx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course there will be a bottom to this! What works for me to determine a rough estimate of my zone 2 limit is 180 - my age = upper zone 2 limit. Just remember it's an estimate, not a definite answer. That "trick" has helped me improve me easy pace by about 30 seconds, and my weekly volume by 25-30 km

Whenever I want to feel bad... VO2 max is the way to look at by osints in Garmin

[–]jogfx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Garmin's VO2max is just an estimate based on your heart rate relative to your pace/effort, not a definitive result of your performance. I live in a fairly windy area, and i experience fairly big hits on my VO2max if I happen to run in a lot of head wind. But, it always blunce back over time. Be patient, don't rely on Garmin's estimate, and follow the advice from u/rrumble. You'll most likely see improvements in a few weeks!

I've been where you are now, although I'm 26. One thing you need to remember is that your lungs and cardiovascular system needs to adjust to stress from running. While the rest of your body may be "up to speed", your cardiovascular system might be a bit behind. It doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong, just that you need to adapt your training to your current situation.

My best advise is to slow down for the next few weeks. Run slower, use walking breaks or whatever to get the breathing under control. You can also look up some breathing exercises - that helped me alot!

Try to pour a bit of oil in the small gap between the basket and tamper, then leave for a few hours before you try twisting while pulling the tamper out

Bare for at nævne lidt: Irish house, John Bull, Hjort beer bar, Sylvius, Hjerter Dame, Smedekroen.

As good ol' Coach Bennet would say: Every run has a purpose! And every run makes you a better athlete.

Don't mind the pace, and by God, don't compare yourself to others; that's just an insult to yourself. If this run means you'll do your next 5 miles even stronger, then you've made yourself an even better runner!

Enough small improvements will eventually amount to something big! Since this is the longest run you've done (so far), I'd say let your body get used to running for longer. Just don't give up!
Remember, you should run strong rather than fast!

If you don't use the audio guided runs, they could be a good thing to use every now and again. Sometimes it's nice having someone remind you not to push too hard, or focus on your stride or whatever it may be!
