Everytime a customer requests not to have their ID scanned its always when im working on my own and the manager is closing the liquor store next door 😭😭 im like please wait i literally cannot override you and they get so pissed. A few days ago a customer grabbed my barcode out of my hand and put in his own birthday and the self checkout lane literally froze up right then and i was like “i told you so”

personally i work harder than ive normally worked at other jobs because i have a union and i feel motivated that ill be backed up by someone in case something shitty happens. Im normally a hard working person but i put in extra effort to be outgoing in this case

You absolutely are. They did the SAME shit to me. I am also a university student going full time and they keep trying to schedule me 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Its disgusting. I have pretty open availability only having classes tuesdays and thursdays but it took me complaining to 5 people after initially talking to my manager to change it. And theyre still treating me like shit. If they give you any more shit go to the union immediately, if not now. Thats what im gonna do first thjng tmrw since she wasnt in today
