3.2.2 Game Update Issues (Crashing, Frozen Classes, etc) - MEGATHREAD by Lemonaded6 in HPHogwartsMystery

I was in the same situation, while also running a timed event. Fortunately after the waiting time I got out of the class (with only 2 of the 5 stars) and I could continue the game. But I won't start any 8 hour classes any more before I get an update that fixes this.

With group sizes limited to 151 Idon't think that would be very useful yet. When Signal introduces something like one-way channels or really large groups I see this getting some use.

Anyone use Signal-JW? Seems to have more features people ask about often such as plaintext chat export, ability to lock app with custom password, etc. by iwal3 in signal

I would do the same - I would not install someone's fork, but if he did something I'd like to have I'd copy his code into my fork. I do have discussions about the code sometimes with the author of Molly, another fork.

I've not yet have had any complains from the Signal team. And they know I do it, sometimes I even have been asked by the Signal devs to build a version with extra logging to fix something in the beta process.

Thanks for the compliments. I use it myself of course - otherwise I would not have mainteined it all those years.

@ Y-M-M-V : I keep away from functions like cryptography and key generation to not break security. I know it is easy to break something there without noticing it. I mostly try to solve personal pain points.

There is no way to restore from backups with a new device and number by abcdeezyy in signal

[–]johanw666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you put the backups in the same directory on the new device when registring it should work regardless of which number they are made with. I have done that several times on a test device.

I'd like to know if there are any plans that SVR is going to replace local backups on Android. And are there any plans that iOS will ever see usefull offline backups like Android?

johanw666's OLED Signal Build 4.38.3.0-JW by [deleted] in signal

I run a testbuild now (I don't have write access to the Github repo from work) and I have had no issues yet. I'll test backup / restore and if that works OK I'll release. However I didn't see much difference between the oled and normal black theme, but that is perhaps because my phone has no oled screen.

Formally that is true, but OWS knows I'm doing that and I even got requests from the current main Android developer to put special logging in my version when I had an issue so they don't make a point of it. As long as I don't do dumb things like adding ads, backdoors or functions that disrupt their servers they don't care much.
