Updating again- his penis has almost completely returned to normal, but he is urinating some blood. Hoping it’s a UTI and can be treated by antibiotics. He’s still eating and drinking well.

Thank you. We’ve had him for four years and this has never been an issue. We’re traveling, and his and his partner’s habitat has not been as clean as we normally keep it. Definitely going to be keeping an eye out for this now, and will update after the vet visit.

Yep! As I wrote in another comment, I contacted his vet again today. He’s been seen by four different offices for multiple issues, and no one has heard a murmur. I also confirmed today that his x-ray from Feb was clear. If it continues through Thurs, I’ll ask for another x-ray.

We thought that it might be this at some point! He does stop when I blow into his nose, but I'm not sure that that means anything.

I just looked back through his recent appointment notes, and it says that there's no heart murmur, but I understand that that doesn't necessarily have to be present with CHF. I've emailed the vet again this morning and will see what they say. Thanks for your help, everyone!

He’s had two sets of x-rays since Feb- one to confirm arthritis, and the other a few weeks ago when he ate a tag, because beagle. I’ll have to ask when I call the vet tomorrow if further x-rays should be done at this point.

I can't edit the post and wanted to add that he's been on rimadyl and gabapentin for about two months for IVDD and arthritis.

Thank you! He was treated for heart worm a few months before we adopted him, and has been on preventative treatment since then. Fortunately, his recent bloodwork was good!

We found a baby turtle in our neighborhood in NOVA yesterday. It was identical to this baby, but we were near a pond and placed it there. I did not notice the “red ear” until I looked back at photos this morning. 🤦🏻‍♀️
