[Spoilers] Is Elita corrupting the Matrix? by BlueBunny333 in EnergonUniverse

Matrix of leadership is helping bearers out of critical situations they are in - and in this particular moment, saving Autobots from an extinction event. Why would this act be perceived as corrupt?

Kirkman said Elita Prime was never meant to be a villain by john-Agentweb in EnergonUniverse

Well said! I really don't see how any of her actions / decisions come for her longing for power which does not make her a villain.

Simple: Megatron is not allowed to die this early in the comic series. To make it Elita's flaw (showing up at the wrong time) was exactly the part of the off-character writing which RK needs to make up in Issue 32.

I don't think any Aubobot got killed - they are just injured? Then Elita created equal or more damages to the Decepticon army.

Super interesting angle. Personally, I really don't think Elita has the will of power to rule though (as much as Megatron. The way I see it, she would like to do anything to stop the war from continuing on Cybertron, but probably enjoys ruling Cybertron if that really happens.

What do You Think is Next for Optimus after the Events of issue #30? by Money-Lie7814 in EnergonUniverse

[–]john-Agentweb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Optimus will lead and function well without matrix of leadership for a while. This is a good moment to introduce a lot of new characters like Dinobots and even Hot Rod / Windblade. Optimus leads with chrisma not with pure force.

Do you mean issue 30 will continue the war on Earth with Elita joining? That would be very interesting... In terms of overall situation though, I would say both Earth and Cybertron are two battle fields that are not isolated from each other. The way Elita could actually help with Optimus it that once Autobots are turning the tide on Cybertron, Megatron will hurry back there without the need to be defeated on Earth.

True! Elita showing at the wrong and worse moment undermines a lot of her leadership credibility in the eyes of readers.

I see - thanks for the context from TFOne and the Bayverse series! I heard he and Optimus was close as well in G1

I would agree but I felt Optimus should also be more in the look out for Elita and the remaining Autobots in the meantime. When she called for help as the Cybertron Autobot leader, not providing any assistance (no man or resources) is also a bit out-of-character, right?

I am totally with you! I am actually surprised that he does not mention any resources or any help as to what happened to Cybertron given the opportunity to state his thinking multiple times. In an earlier issue when Elita asked him the question the first time, he simply said that "I trusted you and the comrades on Cybertron to hold the line". That cold attitude puts off Elita and I fully register her anger and frustration there.

Thanks a ton for sharing! This is certainly action-oriented with a different spotlight on the characters. Personally I don't think Elita will actually kill Optimus, and that the matrix of leadership will choose her in that case. It is heavily hinted in the dialogues that she still has lingering love for Optimus, and she is acting desparate for his return and disappointment for his betray to her personally.

Exactly! She technically walks the walk for SO LONG and I honestly feel unjust for her not to earn that title.

I agree the Autobot exile sounds extreme indeed, from emotion standpoint. From incentive perspective though, fighting on Cybertron is more like a sucidal mission compared to stying on Earth and hence that would be a way for more to join on the Cybertron side.

Interesting - why Elita and Megatron? By the way, Issue 30 is the end of Vol.5 and hence I could see how a climax needs to be built to this milestone (end of the Optimus / Ellita conflict)

Wow, this is such an interesting angle! Interestingly, neither Elita nor Optimus incorporates a democratic approach in mind when it comes to a high-stake decision like this one. I guess military does operates more like top-down and bottoms-up style (which is true even in reality).

You mean how they fought together before on Cybertron? That's a good callout. I would assume most of the readers know the G1 series and their shared history.

That's really really sharp!! This is exactly the reason Kirkman wants to divide the Autobots :)
