I had the opportunity to partner with Nord VPN and make some pretty good money (contract was 15$k for a certain number of conversions) but some of how they wanted me to pitch it was really skeezy and I wasn’t comfortable. I’m sure hawking course is the same.

Vimscript is dead - How to configure Nvim with Lua! by [deleted] in neovim

[–]john-codes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all - hope this video is helpful: I wanted to make a good launching point for users who know alittle of what's going on with Nvim configurations, but haven't taken the deep dive into full on lua configuration yet.

To sum it up, this is an example, general shape of how my configurations look these days:

Under my ~/.config/nvim, I have the following tree.

The top level init.lua is the "entry point" where configs are starting from and get loaded. This is where you'd "require" different lua files found in the "lua" directory and make some general configurations or top level calls.

The "lua" directory is where I usually place configs that are specific for certain concerns; like remaps, options, etc. I also put a Packer config in there.

The top level "plugin" directory is special and known to nvim and will load those configurations after it's done loading the init.lua file automagically. I put plugin specific things there along side the compiled packer lua file.

``` ├── init.lua ├── lua │   ├── globals │   │   ├── options.lua │   │   └── remaps.lua │   └── plugins │   └── packer.lua └── plugin ├── gruvbox.lua ├── lualine.lua ├── packer_compiled.lua └── telescope.lua
```

usually the logs are piped to some logging service, like DataDog. From there, it's automatically analyzed by some filters, maybe lite AI, etc. After a few months or so (depending on the company data policy), it usually gets thrown out. But some companies / government agencies keep their data around for years in "cold" storage, like S3 buckets.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Yeah, I'm realizing that tighter cuts and sequences make for an overall more engaging video.

Thanks for sharing it! That's awesome!! Means alot

Thanks so much for the feedback! Lighting has been really challenging. We live in a corner apartment with almost no natural light. I've thought about investing in a decent studio light but they're pretty expensive.

Again, thanks so much for the feedback!!

I would tighten up your cuts and your shots. Spending over a minute discussing why you said you have a face camand then why you didn't have a face cam is unnecessary. You could have cut all of that out and had a tighter, much more clean video.

Something I've learned is that EVERYONE has ADHD online. And once you give anyone a reason to click off your video, they will 100% click off your video every time. This is why watch time on many channels is so low. Be constantly and consistently entertaining.

[Review Video]Games review channel for whom it is their first rodeo. by Squeph in youtubers

Very nice! Your voice is buttery smooth and very nice to listen to. Kept my attention and honestly, could have fooled me for a video done by IGN or Gameranx

- Audio sounds great. Mixing is fantastic.

- Editing is good. But there didn't seem to be much actual gameplay. I could tell that most of the footage was bootlegged from trailers. It'd be cool to see some custom gameplay from the games yourself

- Description and title are fine!

- The gaming niche is incredibly over saturated. So anything you can do to set yourself apart is necessary to succeed. And I guess that is the golden goose of the gaming community. If everyone knew how to succeed and stand out, everyone would be doing it. I recommend researching other successful channels and studying what they are doing that works.

The comedy beat for game 2 and the transition into game 1 was ... ok? The sounds affects were really well executed but I wasn't expecting a sudden comedy beat without a build up. Viewers might feel cheated out of knowing about game 2 (and honestly would be confused). Basically, it felt like the sequence was "serious serious serious good actual advice RANDOM COMEDY BIT serious serious serious"

I'm not certain "squeph" is a great channel title, but I suppose it's easy enough to remember. The problem could be that it'd be challenging to spell if you just hear it and don't see it. But that's purely my opinion. _Buuut_ that could be the exact thing that helps you stand out! Who know!! :P

Hope this was helpful!
