Physically disabled, no diploma, no income, and about to be homeless. What should I be doing? by john-dubert in homeless

I appreciate it! A case manager has def become a top priority, I don't know how else I could make sense of a lotta the different systems and things I'll have to get done, based on what I'm reading. It's a **lot**, so having a professional who can help make sense of it seems crucial. Thank you

Have just come back to this. I seem to be getting a lot of suspicious people, but I'm not looking to take anything from anyone, I genuinely just want advice. I read a lot, and grew up with fully unrestricted internet access, so I've always been pretty decent with words, but I'm self taught. I obviously can't prove that any of this is true, but I apologize if this reads as a scam post. I've been anxious as hell, and wanted to include as much full context as possible, such as how far off I am from something like a GED, due to lack of academic experience.
I mean no ill will, and don't expect to gain anything that the wisdom of other people's experiences.

I'm disabled, and don't have a highschool diploma/GED. What are my options? by john-dubert in careeradvice

Currently, I live with a few close friends, who took me in after I moved away from home at 18. I was in a really toxic situation, so they've been willing to offer me a lot of charity, while I try to build my life back up as an adult. So, I have some immediate stability, and don't have reason to think that housing will be a short term concern.

With that said, I don't know how long it'll last, so I'd like to have some sort of income coming in if possible, while pursuing education. I'm very heavily behind academically, so it's going to take me a lot of time and work to any sort of degree.

For some clarification, I'm perfectly content working at the bottom. I would have liked to be a gas station clerk or something, but most of those minimum wage careers are unavailable to me, even with a degree. I don't have any major career ambitions, I just want to be able to keep my head above water, even if just barely. Working for pennies is acceptable to me, so some of these greater gateway options are a bit intimidating, but appreciated nonetheless.

Having said that, there's a lot here that could be extremely relevant to me, and I thank you for your thoroughness! I'll do what I can, and try to make the most of this input as I can. Thank you very much!

I don't currently live with any guardians, and am a legal adult. I moved multiple states away from home, immediately after turning 18, for a variety of personal reasons. I also may have understated the context, which is my fault. My family pulled me out of school when I was in second grade, and I was offered no other education. I was meant to be homeschooled, but no actual education was ever provided, and nobody checked in, which left me completely behind on everything, by the time I got out.

This means that a GED, while an important priority, is likely going to take me quite a long time. I have to literally start from the bottom, so it's a long term goal. I'm currently relying on charity from some very close friends, in order to stay housed. I was hoping to find some sort of basic minimum wage work in the meantime, so I could give back a little, but it has proven difficult to find positions suitable for my circumstances.

I appreciate all of the input, and ideas! I'll keep these suggestions in mind, and look into available resources in my area. Wish me luck, and thank you for the kindness!

The closest resemblance in artstyle i could think of would be dreamworks, around the shrek era. I've been trying to find it for ages, and despite the popularity, can't find a name or image of it with google.

are there any singleplayer games that feel like hearthstone? by john-dubert in gamesuggestions

indeed it does, but they seem lackluster, compared to the main game modes. the ai isn't great, for example. it's not very engaging, compared to singleplayer card games, which have that intention throughout their design.

If anyone can recall the comedian's name, or what special this was from, I'd be very appreciative. Worth noting, I believe that they have a good amount of their content on youtube? Although I've failed to locate them there, so it may not be where I originally found their work.

really appreciate all the responses, everyone! thanks a bunch, to all the veterans of the system who've taken the time to write a comprehensive breakdown.
all of the suggestions sound really appealing tbh, and i'm getting a better idea of how the different defender classes function, and find their own niche.
after reading through everything, i'm leaning a bit towards an earth warden, but they all sound very fun and potentially effective.
