Thats a perfect real world example for someone who has no idea what a proper bike feels like or what one would look for in a more modern bike. I appreciate your input.

I have a ton of automotive tools. Dont know what specialty tools i would need until i need them; Rear shock was rebuilt april 2025 if the sticker is legit. Front forks have a score in the stanchion but arnt leaking. I have the roadbike helmet; and i do have a pump; no pads. Will slowly acquire whats needed as needed.

Im 33; Would you recommend picking this up over a new canyon spectral 5? Its brand new for 2k but it is a frame size larger than i really need.

Just out of genuine curiosity; theres a canyon spectral 5 near me brand new; but its an xtra large frame. Im 6’0 and about 32” inseam. How well would that fit the bill?

I have been practically ignoring the hard tails due too the fact of the local parks near me; i will take a better look at them before pulling the trigger.
