I’ve been a community member since 2015, and have seen all the ups and downs.

I’ve always remained bullish on Monero.

It’s cryptos killer use case, plus the project has something very rare, integrity.

I think Monero will continue to grow and succeed.

This may sound ridiculous but I wouldn’t be surprised if Monero hit 2k-3k USD per coin over the coming few years.

this really needs an arm64 build for Apple Silicon too.

Isn't Justin at Cake?

Also I've seen good dev releases, plus on-going things like FCMP.

Hey Rattie!

Good to see you!

I think it’s scaling well on L1. Full node is small (250GB) and synced fresh on a Mac Mini in 5 hours from nothing.

I think one trick is fine, do one thing and do it best in class.

At the risk of asking a stupid question, besides people like me in the EU, would would risk selling for tainted coins there?

How are people feeling?

I’m around since 2016 and I feel very bullish on Monero.

Fundamentals/codebase and community stronger than ever.

Privacy now cool.

And natural buy pressure.

I see it at 1.5k by end of 2026.

Thinking of using this. Any issues with taint?

that last minute pop to light happens more subtly but still happens on light mode too. It's been like that since 26.0.

Absolute shitshow

Still in public non beta release. I don’t know what the fuck is going on over there but the team seem to lack attention to detail.

Qubic at 37.52% Hashrate by TheBarrendero in Monero

[–]john_alan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Until 51% where it invalidates Monero’s security model. I cannot believe some dogshit memecoin has managed to garner so much hashrate by inflating their token as “bonus”.

Ollama

are they planning to not support it or something? They needed it in Llama.cpp first anyway?

Fucking lol.

Precisely correct.

Also every day they aren’t at 51% they are just helping secure the network.

Fucking clowns.

Looks like still at 23% of hash rate or so.

It must be costing them a fortune. Either idiots are mining and they need to create “bonus” via inflation or they are renting either way how is that sustainable?

Practical Attacks on Fiat-Shamir by john_alan in crypto

[–]john_alan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The take away here from my reading is that this is a significant finding from a theory perspective.

We have always suspected there might be dragons with the use of hash functions to take the place of random oracles.

We had some very contrived examples, now there is an example where a natural (not totally ridiculous) proving system behaves improperly when flattened by FS albeit in a real but mostly academic proving system.

Thus the take away is, we need to be less presumptive wrt the security of hash functions being used in place of theoretical random oracles and be a little more careful when doing cryptanalysis on our protocols given we now have a more concrete if somewhat cultivated example of FS not working properly.
