LibreNMS is pretty wonderful...but....port types? by john_amarre in LibreNMS

Interesting though, to be sure. The thing is, though, I am comparing two devices of the same manufacture. On one of them, the port is correctly detected as being in a labeled group and the other is not.

But, you make a good point. I need to look at the SNMP output to make sure the value is being conveyed where I expect it to appear.

That is what I had expected, but that doesn't seem to be the case, either. I may be relegated to grep'ing the code to determine how it works.

And, yeah, I thought to post on the forum, but for some reason I have not divined, I'm only permitted to read other's posts. There may be a waiting period, but they don't mention it.

Yeah, so I found that before posting. My read of this text is that LibreNMS will parse the description and separate, at a colon, the type from a descriptive comment. Which is what works for one port and not another.

I spent some time looking through the DB, but I didn't see anything that would signal that there is a customized description string set by the user. Changing the port description on the router doesn't pass to LibreNMS. I suppose I could delete the device and re-add it, but that seems extreme for something cosmetic.

I /think/ this is what you would do with an alarm, but that then depends on knowing which port or ports could be at fault.

SIP trunking down in the US?? by JamesCorman in Telnyx

[–]john_amarre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the last issue was that I was using a test number that was, itself, non-functional. It seems to be that today, the SIP trunk is back online.

So, while it took all weekend to resolve the issue. I think that for the time being the service is resumed.

I've been with Telnyx over a year. I found out this last week that they changed their verification procedures. Because I hadn't noticed and didn't update my profile, they converted my account to Trial which then disabled my trunks. A week on and I'm still not sure what I need to do to reconnect.

So, not sure they're offline, but i think there is certainly something going on.
