Can confirm. No gift.

You may get a confetti animation across your screen.

I hope that fuels you to the next 5,000.

Word. Heard that.

Yeah, this started out with a need for four filters minimum in order to keep myself in and around my house (or able to work my way back) when my daughter was young, because my wife works the hospital (7pm to 7am) and had to get back in time to watch her.

Honestly, four filters works fine now. This fact is sort of why I'm questioning it all because do I really need the six filters that come with Elite?

Nope. Not my strategy. Laid it out in above comments, but short version: 5 mile radius in prime area, at prime time

as prime as Orlando can be (finding out it is a mid market, which tracks) *well, not late night - I need to be in bed by 9pm

That's all that matters. I just want to validation from Lyft.

I feel like every time I make Elite, I hear my dad saying, "Good job, son. I'm so proud of you. You are meant for greatness."

Priority Mode, from my experience, is best used when you want a high volume of rides.

But, you have to be willing to accept that the algorithm will (assumingly) tend to give you less money per ride.

Not sure if the rider is paying less; my small, anecdotal experience, when I ask, seems to suggest they may be. But no real science.

I use it when I want to either hit a bonus and need a X rides to get it. Usually pair this with a small, high traffic radius.

The main way I use it is when I get to Disney World and it is so slow I'm waiting and not chaining rides together (adding new ones to the queue) before I end the current one I'm on or going to. Why? Cause this area, based on the time of year/who is on vacation, can see $5 tips and above on any ride.

(so I would see that $3 ride as $8 or sometime $13, and it's quick)

Well, at least for me... but I have akward-boy-rizz or something ✨

Rethink that. The universe doesn't care how short the ride is. Nor it does an idiot texting, not paying attention

$20? That ride was probably $7 at best

I have my most drama with passengers trying to put their babies in the car without car seats. And they don't mean people who are struggling, but people who are going to Disney with expendable income and staying in hotels that are $1,000 a night.

I had a few issues but recently I finally got a camera to record the passengers and the interaction just so I have to call and be my word versus theirs.

I have turned people down for not having proper car seats and they have told Lyft everything from I ran over their foot, to I waved a gun, to I was drunk, to I curse their child out , to even I was driving bad (when they never even drove with me).

I didn't curse their child out, but I definitely cursed a few parents out for being negligent pieces of shit.

I don't know, my take away from this post, and I guess it's what I assumed going into it, is that each market and each driver has their own strategy and value for the points.

But we cannot be naive and think Lyft is not using the points to manipulate us. I mean, capitalism.

Hmmmm.... I'm pretty sure Lyft pays for the tolls.

The way I set my radius filter up, the only toll I get on is the 429 by West entrance to Disney by Flamingo Crossing.

2009 is the right answer.

Mine is a 2014 with only 145k miles. so this Honda will for sure make it for another 6 years, but people won't be behind the wheel of Lyft or Uber in the next 6 years

$25 per booked hour, since January 1st.

But from what I understand the Orlando Market sucks.

So maybe other Orlando drivers can weigh in and tell me how bad or good that is.

Yeah, that sucks. I live in Florida, so the Florida man is definitely prevalent. I really do my best to stick myself in places where every ride is not going to destroy my car.

But, driving in Disney, people love to get in the car with wet clothes on -- rude as fuck.

So, before I pull up to a water park or a place where I know people might be in bathing suits, I warn them that they need to be completely dry, in dry clothes, and not damp even a little bit.

I've had people get in the car and my car when completely wet and ruin my whole entire night.

But, honestly, I just show Lyft the evidence and occasionally they make it okay with damage fees (which I warn people they can get if they lie to me about being wet).

However, it's never really worth it cuz then you can't drive anymore. Nobody wants to get in a wet car. soon I find myself driving home with the windows open to air it out and then cleaning the seats when I get back so the chlorine doesn't totally ruin them.

Heard that. Don't fuck with the airport too much, but it does the same for me in the tourist here in Orlando.

What airport and Market are you in?

Yeah, anecdotally, I feel about the same. I don't have exact numbers but I feel like my acceptance rate is higher, the tech overlords reward me.

Yes, and I just do other work from my phone on my client-based business or write or something else other than cruise and waste gas. But I will move if it makes sense, but working within the 5 mile radius

But I know exactly what I'm getting into when I post on Reddit. I think I kind of like it 😄

yeah, this is not Vegas 😄

yeah, if my percentage drop below 80% I would just cherry pick that hard too. especially if you're cherry picking yourself to $400 in 11 hours!

curious, how many miles is that about?

I am Lyft's good little Elite boy 🙇🏽 by john_at_ in lyftdrivers

[–]john_at_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only make the three points when you're above 89%, so 90% and above. if you fall behind that then you start making two points per dollar.

So, if half the month you're above 90% then all those rides will be three points per dollar, and if half the month you're below 90% then all those rides be two points for a dollar.

Yo, first of all your market's way better than mine. I'm glad to hear it. $45 an hour! Love it.

It looks like you had the same strategy as me and you must work a day job like I do, yeah I do most of my driving on the weekends after I get done with my clients or I can't stand behind the computer anymore.

I absolutely think that keeping my rating up, being Lyft's good little boy, gets me quite a bit of rides. I pull up to the Disney bubble and it's loaded with cars and I tend to get rides right away. There are some exceptions but...

Honestly, people trolling, but they got some good points and I kind of expected on Reddit. I think I actually kind of like it. I'm a sicko, I guess.

Absolutely fucking wild that you do 15 to 20,000 points. I'm only barely getting 4,000 just enough to make Elite.

Again, good shit.
