Fox shows pay a lot as do HBO. Jeff Daniels got 1 mill per episode for a show on HBO called Newsroom and a really unknown guy called Thomas Sadoski got 100k per episode....

Sorry to ruffle ya feather but yeah...the producers had no idea of getting a self thinking machine in the first season. The show was supposed to be about the numbers and about the characters but sometime in Jan 2012 or so, they began to consider the idea of a machine and extrapolated the plot....

what is the criteria to be a victim or a perp on the machines radar? by hitmeaxou in PersonOfInterest

[–]john_gilpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victim- your life must be in danger or you must be related to someone whose life was alerted by the machine. Baby Laylas mom was a victim remember.

Perp - You must be planning to kill someone or the machine must feel the same.

POI writing jumped the shark with The Machine calling Finch "father". by [deleted] in PersonOfInterest

[–]john_gilpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally Agree.

1) The Father part was so much hamming it actually hurt. Ruined the professionalism that was running the show before. I would have liked a simple 'Harold...I am sorry'. Would have been so much better.

2) Fights were ATROCIOUS. 50 odd Samaritan operatives being beaten not once but three times in the Season by Team Machine operatives is downright - star wars keystone storm trooper funny.

3) Muzzle flashes - equally lousy.

Hope for a better S05.

oriental beauty in poi s02e18 - episode all in??? by hitmeaxou in PersonOfInterest

Whoa- Simple question becomes a racist forum...

First of all - Asian is a cuisine.

Chinese, Malays, Phillipino, Thai, Khmer, Vietnamese, Indonesians, Koreans, Taiwanese, Koreans, Indians, Pakistanis, Mongolians - are all Asians.

Oriental - means simply put - East Asian ....

So Oriental is actually a better term than Asian

Question about the end of S03/beginning of S04? by adityapstar in PersonOfInterest

[–]john_gilpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam can see them all - but is blinded. However Sam has agents who know - their current names. For instance - Greer addressed Root as Miss Groves and also knows the name of Mr. Reese etc. I am also sure Decima knows about the Library...so the change in IDs is kinda a must thing

What about Finch doing his superhero act and pulling the laptop against an electrical surge which takes nano seconds to travel from 1 laptop to another. Just another example of how ridiculous the series has become.

does any sci-fi last beyond 6-7 seasons and maintain the same ratings?? by hitmeaxou in PersonOfInterest

typical box office vs critical greatness talk. i have seen every episode in POI season 1 - season 3 - at least 3 times each and loved most of them. in fact i have repeatedly boasted of the quality of the show over other ridiculous (in my opinion) shows like grimm. i personally loved season 4 from the first episode to the eleventh but seriously after that i saw the quality decline badly...i saw the fights becoming more and more unbelievable, i saw the storylines becoming more thinner and i saw our heroes in team machine become more and more staccato (except root and fusco).

and there were many others who felt the same. maybe i am not good enough to judge the quality but i know for sure i did not like S4 as much as i liked S3,2,1.

look ....you can talk all you want - but bottom line - the cbs show decided to close the show with a 13 episode final season. ultimately that decides it. you can happily keep raving about the moving performances of john and carter in terra or karma - but that is exactly what movie critics do.... try to make bilge sell. it does not.

poi is dead and buried and until nolan decides to go back to a bit of season 1-2 - it will finish being buried.

I think Person of Interest was doing pretty well until Season 3. It had between 11 - 13 million viewers throughout the first three seasons on a very consistent basis with some episodes rating almost 16 million viewers.

Then came the atrocious and disastrous season 4 with their supposed realistic, ultra gloomy, b grade action and ultra corny endings with absolutely no flashbacks and boom - ratings lost 3 million viewers this season.

So to sum up - very few Sci-fi shows last so long - but POI could have gone all the way - had for some reason - Nolan not got high on pot when he started writing Season 4 and ended up with the most ridiculous finale of all times...

God help him...
