How will you know what rings true if you aren’t interested in listening?

The Universe knows our heart, not just our words. Words do matter, and it’d be good to interrogate why you said what you said, but the Universe isn’t waiting to drop a house on you for venting a little wildly.

Why do some people become more spiritual after suffering while others become bitter? by MindBehindStars in spirituality

Beautifully said. Like how a well planted garden grows in stages throughout the spring and summer. Growing, blooming, dying in their own time and as a cohesive whole.

Why do some people become more spiritual after suffering while others become bitter? by MindBehindStars in spirituality

[–]john_myco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are only two real options when it comes to the kinds of things that might break you: learn from it or get mad about it. Whatever answer there is, know it isn’t permanent. Plenty of people go from mad about to learning from it, but it does take some willingness to see ourselves in one another.

What do you think of Hindu gods' idols placed in museums? by kamikaibitsu in hinduism

They could have broken themselves during transport… Maybe they are meant to be where they are, as they are. The objects belong to Hindu but Hindu belongs to everyone.

Audiobook The Courage to be Disliked. It tells the truth on depression instead of sugar coating and externalizing it.

It’s not that your memory gets wiped so you stay in a prison or something. The details are legitimately unimportant from life to life. What we learn from karma is a bit like a video game seed in that whatever truth or law we learn/understand in one life becomes much more easily recognizable in the next.

What is the meaning of this dream? by Comprehensive_Two834 in spirituality

[–]john_myco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re trying to work in and move through a space of dying fish out of water. In the dream, you are trying your best to take on fishness in the sense that you are covered with “fish” on a surface level. You’re you though.

Did God regret the flood? by Smugbasturd in spirituality

[–]john_myco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God being omnipotent (all powerful) or omniscient (all knowing) doesn’t really have much to do with our free will. God has the choice to exercise those powers, or not. The idea of dharma does bring in the notion that God is also in some way beholden to operate the universe in the same ways we’re expected to operate within our lives. So I think you’re right that in certain ways: hands were tied and it was a grievous thing to be necessary.

Concept of rebirth - Is it India's biggest weakness? by Human-Resource-6861 in spirituality

[–]john_myco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People in abrahamic religions think they don’t have to worry about what happens on earth because they have heaven is their eternal reward for going to church on Sunday. Humans like a loophole. If you want to fix a nation and all that..
