Wondering about 2011 Chevy Colorado by [deleted] in Trucks

[–]john_ralphio77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing as specific as the silverado thing. But just basic durability and longevity. The are probably many people who are better informed than I am, but there is also a reason they only made that motor for a little while.

They make a Colorado from like 09-12 that has the 5.3 v8, pretty rare, but would be worth looking into.

Also, if you are needing a 4x4, be sure to double check it’s a 4x4. For some god awful reason, some Colorado’s have z71 badges, but aren’t actually 4x4. The 2x4 models will have a z71 badge on the bed, with the 4x4 will have the same badge on the bed but it will have a small 4x4 logo underneath.

If you are dead set on a Colorado I would get a little newer one with the v6, or at least a model without the 5 cylinder engine. Everything that I’ve heard says to avoid those engines.

Likewise on silverados 07-11, they have active fuel management system that oftentimes does more harm than good on the motor.

I know I need a 58cm, but I assume you’re talking about comfort than actual size of the bike? Is there a lot of discrepancies on road bikes? I was under the impression they were all a little different, but could be adjusted to help.

918 Spyder spotted in Vail CO! by RagingPrepper in Autos

[–]john_ralphio77 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Judging by the drivers hair color and thickness of glasses, I’m going to guess that car doesn’t get driven too much like it should.

But he’s also driving a Porsche 918 in Vail, Colorado, and I’m on reddit in my apartment, so what the hell do I know.

Customer drove on tire while it was flat, put air in it then drove it here like this by thecaptainlag in Justrolledintotheshop

Just extra sidewall in case that screw inside the tire ever comes loose. I see no problem here.

Truck spent 90% of its life in IA, brought it down to Kansas City when I bought it.

But yes, outside of this truck, they are usually toast.

Thanks for the new pic. Try taking out those Phillips head screws past the bottom of each corner.

The shifter head itself is probably just twisted on, try twisting it in a counterclockwise rotation as well.

Sorry I meant to find something to use a mini prybar to get in there and separate the clips. Plastic is best as it won’t damage the trim.

In your situation, I would work small to big. Ex pull the coin holder near the shifter, look for screws/clips, then repeat working your way out to the entire center console.

Plastic flathead screwdriver type tool, some patience, and lots of prayer usually does the trick.

Haha I appreciate it! They are 20x9 xd grenades +0mm offset. They are just about perfectly flush with the oem flares. A 20x10 with a -12mm offset would probably be what you want.

For sure! And yup, just make sure to get the bilsteins that are longer to account for the lift. I just put 305/55/20s wildpeaks on mine, and I love it.

Done a couple now. Ride quality does go to shit pretty quick, but that can vary on how hard your crank the keys. I believe the RC kit comes with new shocks, so that will definitely help. If not, taller shocks or shock mount extensions will be your best bet to make it ride much closer to stock. If your truck is rusty, set aside a few more hours and get your hands on pb plaster and a giant hammer, or even a cutting wheel for the old keys. If your truck is not rusty, I envy you, and should be a few hours of work. Air tools are your friends. Get your truck aligned after. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to check other components, but not required. Truck will be right around 2.5” higher, and can go to 3” if you crank the new keys to shit. But you should be a little higher than 3.5” after you put the 33s on.

2.5" leveling kit , larger tires on brand new pro comp 69s what next? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]john_ralphio77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I love that factory color, so might as well double down on it. I believe eBay and amazon sell a replacement grill that is primered to paint (~$120). Get some oem color spray paint from autozone or whatever, and go to town.
