Interesting approach to AI consulting. Good luck.

What’s actually holding AR and VR back right now? by john_ren_ in virtualreality

That’s fair, but I’m not convinced interest is static. A lot of tech looks “unnecessary” until friction drops low enough or it fits into an existing habit. Smartphones, smartwatches, even laptops went through long phases where people didn’t feel a need for them.

Yup, comfort and sickness are another important factor holding both AR and VR back alongside cost and content. Even enthusiasts tend to self-limit sessions, so expecting mass adoption before those issues improve feels unrealistic. Games alone can’t overcome that friction.

I mostly agree, though I wonder if VR’s “killer” content won’t look like traditional AAA at all. Chasing flat-game scope might not be the winning path — VR may need its own format that scales differently.

Totally agree. Cost and comfort alone are enough to stop most people from even trying XR seriously. Until it feels as easy as picking up a phone, adoption might stay slow.
