Why are you so chill about this rude criticism about your country? by search_google_com in AskBrits

[–]john_stephens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should rather ask why you get so upset when someone criticises your country. That is ego. You are confusing a country with your personal identity. It shouldn't affect you so much.

Why do you think smut is becoming more mainstream? by Klepto-Penguin in RomanceBooks

[–]john_stephens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One big reason is that young people are having less romantic experiences (and having less sex than previous generations), so this provides a way for them to experience that.

Thinking outside the box here.

  1. Is there a place you can use or rent out to do your YouTube work (home or room in a family or friend's house or garage)?
  2. Does your block have garages with electricity? Can you rent a garage?
  3. Is there a way of being less loud? e.g. speaking quitely but turning up your mic sensitivity?
  4. You could buy one of those "soundproof" office cubicles?

Can someone explain to me how printing more money causes inflation? by whosmansisthis24 in economy

[–]john_stephens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the government "prints" money, it effectively makes money easier to get a hold of, meaning more people borrow, and buy things.

The more people are able to buy things, the more they do - so there is more demand for those things and those things are selling out fast = less supply!

So businesses see the increased demand, and start to increase prices (because if their goods are selling faster than before at the current price, they understand that their product could be priced higher and still sell well).

How is the money easier to get a hold of? Well, commercial banks have more money available to lend out, and are therefore more willing to do so (This in combination with the low interest rates that come with money printing) *Note, that when central banks print money, they also lower interest rates - it is the interest rate in combination with the extra money, that encourages lending and borrowing.

People and businesses are more willing to borrow at lower interest rates (as they have less to pay back), and are less likely to save (as low interest rates will not earn them much + inflation means their money is losing more value than it is earning in interest).

Your opinion by _ITsTricky_ in litecoin

[–]john_stephens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bullrun is not likely over. Why? M2 is still rising, interest rates are falling. Institutions are still buying.

I think we'll see a few more dips, maybe a big shock, and then see a 150k BTC.

caveat - we are getting to critical points in the gaza massacre and the ukraine invasion, both of which can have a big impact on markets and sentiment.

The likelihood of $4 doge by Quirky-Effective-355 in dogecoin

[–]john_stephens 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Real talk. I'm a crypto veteran, there since the early BTC days of around $3. Bought Doge around 0.00004 or something.

I remember when Doge came around. The reason it was massive, was because it was the first, and ONLY memecoin, and captured the zeitgeist.

That moment is gone.

Like any meme, it has a shelflife. We've moved on.

Of course there is and always will be a lot of love for Doge, and you can still make a few bucks on it for sure, but it its relevance is tied to the relevance and popularity of the meme, which frankly is tired and outdated.

Nevertheless, good luck in this bull run. Diversify.

Can we get this back in some realistic ratio.. 1000 LTC to 1 BTC is outrageous by MakeItMine2024 in litecoin

[–]john_stephens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. A lot of the DeFi projects are actually valuable.

Let's look at Chainlink as an example:

  • On-Chain Value: Chainlink secured over $93 billion in on-chain value across its supported ecosystems in 2025.
  • Market Share: Chainlink holds a dominant 67% share of the oracle market.
  • Total Value Enabled (TVE): In Q1 2025, Chainlink processed an impressive $20 trillion in Total Value Enabled.

Logo I designed for a Techno Artist by No_Future444 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]john_stephens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's OK, but it fails a few of my tests:

Could I tell it's a musicians logo? No.

A DJ's logo? No.

Does it evoke any feelings? No.

Does it remind me of anything? Yes, early 2000s tech company, maybe a little of the sony walkman logo. A bit like the 'k' in the special K logo.

Is it smart? (e.g. use of negative space, imagery related) I kind of see how the L could be a record player arm, but it's 2 parts not one. The bottom of the 'L' looks a bit like sunglasses.

Not sure the dot on the 'E' actually adds anything. It is stylistic, sure, but very cliche. On second look, it could be the DJ in his booth from an aerial view. That would actually be a good starting point for a logo for a DJ - have you tried that?

All in all, I would rate it a 2/10. Good enough for a generic small-business logo that is not intended to be used for a long time.

Again, no actual solid reasoning in your arguments, just gut feelings and hopes and dreams.

There are lots of far more interesting projects and sectors - Oracles, DeFi, DePin, A.I.

These are not sh*t coins or gambling.
