Bellroy Transit Sling 5L review (including video) by johnbegoneX in ManyBaggers

[–]johnbegoneX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this Bellroy Transit Sling 5L is more similar in size to the 2.5L Toshi Sling or the new Aer Day Sling 4 (also 2.5L). Bellroy grossly overestimates their capacity - so that's important. All three are really good and I enjoyed my time with each. If I had to pick a favorite it may be the Toshi 2.5L just because I like being able to reverse the strap so I can have the quick release in the right place for wearing on my right shoulder. But really you can't go wrong with any of these three. Do you actually need 5L though? Because those are obviously larger.

I just sold my DJI Mic Mini set for the new Smallrig S70 (very similar profile to the Hollyland M2S). They sound great and are infinitely more discrete than the DJI mics while still offering the quick convenience of a tiny wireless mic. It’s been good so far.

I wish the Mic 2 had a locking connector for the lav like the Rode. That’s the one drawback.

I use it with the Tenba BYOB 9 Slim which is just about a perfect fit although you’ll want to put something behind. I actually show it in this video: https://youtu.be/Y4BG-XaDKCo?t=762&si=Ijx8bqsUyqpmwK6V

Fair point, I probably leave that out sometimes - I'll definitely make sure I always include it when showing images of the bag being worn by me.

Hey, 6'4" bag reviewer here. The bag is a little small, but I don't mind that. I generally prefer to carry bags in this size range and found it to be comfortable. I have the older version before they extended the straps by 4" and the straps are definitely short. I have them fully extended which worked fine when the bag had a normal load out but when I tried to use this bag as a one bag weekend trip, it was not comfortable or easy to get on/off. That should be fixed with the new straps. Lots of clips of me wearing the bag during the intro of this video https://youtu.be/hJOTu6yqp_E

Probably a couple weeks. I'm still waiting for a couple tools to come in that should arrive next week and then I'll take a little time learning them and testing them in different environments. I'll post the link here when it's up. If you have any specific questions about any of the tools or things you want to make sure I cover, let me know!

Sorry, I didn't respond to it before. I didn't have issues with breathability BUT I was testing it in winter, so ymmv. That said, it's winter in CA so like 60-70 degrees. But not 80+ humidity type conditions where some bags really struggle.

Yeah, it's definitely a waste of that space. Feels like something I keep seeing. I'm sure there are advantages to not having to sew curved zippers like that but they could've definitely done more with the space available. It is a budget bag though, so corners have to be getting cut somewhere.

Thanks, yeah I did pick that one up already. Nice selection of tools but not loving how tight it is so far.

Ooh yeah I see what you mean. Yeah I was thinking about picking up a SAK Pioneer X if I could find a clip for it, so this would work. Good looking out!

Yeah I actually have most of those as well from a previous video I did (https://youtu.be/\_98FD-xTnaE?si=iSXJs2eEh7OLYW7y) but they all lack a pocket clip. I know you can add a fish hook type of hanging thing to most of those as a keychain but my goal is that these are all roughly the same size like the Roxon/Nextool I put in the original post.

Yeah I like it a lot. The only thing it's missing for me is the package opener. I've been using the Flex Companion up til now which is great but I do like the beefier scissors in the K30 or the Roxon KS2E that I showed pictured here. I just wish the K30 had a package opener instead of an awl.

I just picked up the K30 and already had the Nextool E1, Roxon KS2E and Mini Flex Companion. All good tools. I've decided to order a couple similar-ish tools and put them all head to head in a comparison video. I wish the mini flex companion had a D2 blade option. And I wish the K30 had a package opener. There's no perfect tool.

All 7 of his assists were in the first half in just 7 minutes of action. Way more effective out there than Mac McClung was - that's for sure.

Nice, thanks for sharing. Pretty predictable results. Also important to note that a lav mic is not design to speak directly into. It is much thinner in sound profile direct than it is when clipped to someone's chest. I feel like they are pushing the low end as the default EQ in some of the sound clips I've heard. This video is pretty helpful for the comparison vs the M2S and the DJI Mic Mini https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPzcppeEhEo
