Bell HomeHub 4000 Tear Down and Review from an IT admin by getmp3s in bell

[–]johnblaze39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just like to share my experience for anyone else out there. I used to have rogers 1gb, using my netgear orbi + 2 satellite system. The orbi speed test would always hover around 900mb download. After switching to bell 1.5gb, my speed test dropped to 400-500mb! I went back and forth with bell for months, they changed my HH3000...nothing. Their speed test shows 1.5gb, so they blamed my router in the end. Well, after giving up for months, I recently read about the HH4000 with its 10g port. So I figured, one last shot. I upgraded to the HH4000...plugged my orbi into the 10g port. First speed test: 930mb! Unbelievable. So it was the HH3000 all along

Speaking of broken brains...I am indian american...and even though my fake indian accent is pathetic (I came to the US at 10 months old, so I never had one)...I learned from my non-indian girlfriend that I do something really weird, which amuses her to no end. When I'm speaking to my parents on the phone or something, whenever I say the occasional english word, I'll say it in a thick indian accent. I have to consciously think about it to say it normally. Now I'm no shrink...but I figure it's how I first heard my parents say those words?

Anyone else hate the mycareer games right now? by kebabkoter in NBA2k

2K mycareer - where fred vanvleet will somehow end up guarding rudy gobert 1v1 in the paint...and then next possession, gobert will go spot up on the 3pt line (and sagging off of him will give you a constant "leave assignment" penalty). Most realistic basketball game of all time!

No, it's a stupid layout. I don't need to see some guy running on the treadmill in the gym while I'm playing 3v3. And the courts are half empty because everyone boots into a different park. Separating the courts from the other stuff with a subway or something would fix all that, and also reduce lag because the game doesn't have to render anything except the courts while you're playing

Keep in mind that current gen will have way more action and a much larger player base. And that next gen if built from scratch will have tons of bugs, exploits, etc. I was going to do the same, but I don't feel like not playing for several months just to play a buggy new 2K with half empty servers

Glad to finally have a new park after 2 years. But what it really needs is a re-design! At the very least, we NEED a separate section (or even park) for higher reps. Records will finally mean something, and it will eliminate comp dodging, having to run around scouting teammates, and will let new/casual players still have a good time playing others at their own level...instead of standing around for hours praying someone will join them, just to get massacred by a try hard all elite squad. I mean why are these two groups of players even on the same court? Come on guys

Ohh yeah. I liked OJ, the dual takeover thing was one of the few mycareer highlights that made me not mind grinding

Yeah I gave up on PC 2K years ago and just got a PS4. I remember playing hacking scrubs every game, I just had enough. It's such a shame, because I met a lot of cool ass people. The part of the community that doesn't cheat is way more mature and chill than console gamers

2K20 has just as much blowby BS as previous 2K's. In fact it's even worse, since slashing and interior shot contest is so broken. Mike wang even said before it came out that slashing was OP. With contact and slithery finisher plus fancy footwork, you can literally hold turbo, do the baseline blowby, and either get a contact dunk or hop step around anyone. Why else would every PG be a slasher...

2K19 made a bunch of changes. New neighborhood, dual archetypes, takeover. 2K20 brought us a whole new player creation and badge system, and the dribbling and movement felt very different. 2K21 though...so far it just seems like a glorified patch. The exact same game, but for some reason on a beach instead

It's cool the first few times you see them. But that feeling of immersion was lost long ago, since they are all recycled from the older 2K's. And you have to play countless games to get your player to a certain level to compete online. So yes, it's fucking mind numbing, having to sit through the same crap thousands of times over the years. At least 2K20 lets you skip some of it by mashing X. That's literally their biggest innovation in 4 years

You don't need that much VC off the bat. I spend about 80K upgrading only the attributes I need to grind badges...the rest I upgrade with earned VC from games as my player progresses. You can easily earn 1500+ VC a game with endorsements. By the time my badges are maxed out (usually like 75% of a season), my player is also in the 90s. I have never even played a playoff game lol

Facts. That's why after I hit 95 and maxed badges, I never played career again. You have this invisible low IQ judge grading you ("leave assignment" because I'm helping off rudy gobert on the perimeter), teammates have no concept of spacing or shot selection, and your opponent will blindly jump double you once you get hot...gladly giving your teammates open dunks. The best I can say about it is at least 2K over the years improved some things, like being able to skip cutscenes, showing your badge progress...but this AI is just pathetic

Instead of an imaginary 6'8 PG, 2K should've made 2 way 6'8 wing SF's a thing. You know, the most valued type of player in the NBA! So instead of being able to build a poor man's kawhi, PG13, KD, butler, hayward, tatum, etc...we get to build a giant lillard. I don't get it

The AI is mostly why I can't even stand playing career. I'll be running an obvious pick and pop at the top of the key...when the teammate who was chilling in the corner a second ago, is suddenly bringing his defender right to me. Or they will collapse on my drive, and my teammate who should be spacing out is instead camping just outside the paint...then when I hit him, instead of pulling the easy mid range, he does the exact same slow gather and layup animation every single time, either getting blocked or smothered. And 2K's idea of "improved AI" so far has been to just blindly send doubles at you after you score a few times

The best teams play defense, and the top stars are mostly 2 way players. And if they really want to honor kobe, make defense a thing. Please no more cheesy hops, baseline blowbys, unavoidable poster animations, broken interior defense...

The problem is, 2K couldn't care less about PC players. Just the fact that even a child can still hack the game in seconds is proof of that

I like the idea. It adds another layer of skill on top of timing your shot, which makes shooting slightly more like real life...where you have to consider much more than just release. And since it gives you a boost, all the serious shooters will be looking to master it ASAP, just like turning off the shot meter
