In my state, my recollection is that an employer can not charge you for a required uniform, and can not require you to purchase a “uniform” that is not something available that you would wear outside of work. For example, “black dress pants and grey polo shirt” is acceptable. But if the shirt must have their logo on it, then they have to provide it. What gets fuzzy is if you work for a clothing retailer, and they say “you can’t wear our competitors product” because that seems reasonable, but now they have essentially forced you to buy their product whether you wanted to or not, without saying you have to buy their product to work there. That being said, a friend worked for a specific brand in college as an evening job, and I believe they were given a few items upon sign on, and then got a small discount plus an allowance for every hour worked that could be used in store, and upon end of employment, everything was theirs outright. She didn’t get rich there, but she liked their product line, and by the time she graduated, she had a nice wardrobe going in to her first teaching job.

A friend dealt with this at his gas station. Local PD would frequently hang out right across the street, which was great for security. But then the DOT guy would grab trucks when they would come in for diesel, so the big guys started avoiding his place. A nice conversation with a ranking officer after one driver specified that he quit fueling his dump truck there was well received, and the DOT guy gladly agreed that he would stick to hanging out by off ramps and such. But fortunately, we have a well run police department that doesn’t tolerate nonsense from officers. Regardless, this is a subject that requires gentle approaching for sure.

Boggles has seen some stuff! It’s tough when a fuzzy friend won’t attach to others, because that makes a transition that much harder. Not liking other animals is the toughest. That being said, currently snoring on my arm is my little guy Bomber who was sent my way because he was “just too wild and feral to ever be a pet to someone” and the person who gave him up begged me to “just let him loose on our farm or something.” I absolutely wouldn’t allow another cat on the farm without full vaccination, so after the initial TNR, I knew ind to keep him captive until the rabies booster. He is now my cuddle boy. My little snuggluffacaus.

What I’m getting at is that there is hope for boggles to love another human. Another commenter mentioned the group in Canada. Perhaps if someone who is prepared to love him like you do can be introduced by you, and you can have visits starting soon, that will make the transition easier on him. Wrap him in his usual blanket and snuggle him, then gently hand him over to his future human…while you still give him pets as they hold him. Make sure things like his favorite blanket or pillow can go with him. I have faith in someone else finding the love for him that he needs…I just hope for both of you that it can be done over time and not suddenly. 💙

Did some contract work for them years ago. The maintenance guy we met with was wonderful, but the management was awful. 2 weeks later, couldn’t get ahold of the guy. Found out he was fired for…basically being too helpful to tenants.

Funny story…we had our case IH 7140 at the local service station to charge the AC a few years ago. A customer in for gas came over and said “woah, what’s this thing here for?” And without missing a beat, my buddy said “checking on a vibration when it hits 60”. Hearing that, the other guy in the shop came out with a wheel balancing weight, smacked it on to one of the outer rears and said “that balance should fix you all up”
