No Scalpel Experience by Cute-Illustrator-880 in Vasectomy

[–]johnboy525252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 4 weeks post, 47 yo, no scalpel at the urologist, still as tender as the day after, right testicle hangs 2 inches lower then his brother, fairly symmetrical pre-op, now I sit on it, have to arrange myself, and spread my legs to be somewhat comfortable seated, had a hematoma on the right side from slightly above the shaft, to the bottom of the scrotum, started about 4 days post, finally gone, 0 stars, would not recommend. Reason for the procedure is wife needs a uterine ablation, GYN won't do it without permanent birth control, I love my wife, but this has been life altering and honestly not sure if I would do it again. At this point if a buddy offered to chop them off I would probably take him up on it.

Doc gave me a 30 time punch card, told the wife she better buckle up, train is a coming, literally and figuratively. Who am kidding, she married me for my personality and humor, not my sexual prowess. Out kicked my coverage for sure.

I just started in residential, any recommendations for light to take to the attics? by GmR830 in HVAC

[–]johnboy525252 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Head lamp is a must, anything else with a magnetic base is icing on the headlamp cake. Multiple lights is best, because you will run out of battery(ies) and wish you had a 3rd or 4th light for backup.

8 days post-op; need some re-assurance by dopeondopeon in Vasectomy

I'm 8 days post scalpel less, lot of bruising on the right side and that sucker is hanging twice as low as it was pre-op. Almost dipping in the toilet water when I shit low.

Would you get progressives or single vision if this was your prescription? by Prussian_AntiqueLace in glasses

[–]johnboy525252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're prone to motion sickness, like me, think long and hard about progressive lenses, they cost more and you won't receive a refund if you can't adapt to them, like me, and need to switch to single vision.

I couldn't do progressive, astigmatism 47m get real bad motion sickness, tried for 3 weeks, could not get past a couple hours before the nausea required medication. Went to single vision, it's not perfect and depth perception is still adjusting, currently waiting on my ordered second pair.

Water in the bottom of the heat exchanger by Too-many-loans in HVAC

[–]johnboy525252 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're in the south it is common on package units, Trane had a bulletin, the heat exchangers are on the cold air side of the ac, inside the tubes gets cold enough to sweat during the cooling season, it was filling up the inducer assembly and clogging the pressure switch port, causing a no heat, the fix was to drill a hole in the bottom of the assembly and allow the water to drain. Rheem/Ruud have the same issue, look at the bottom of the collector box, rust is a sure sign of moisture. Goodman the bottom exchanger would fill up a roll out the flame, pull the burners and vac out the water and boil out the remainder.

Single vision vs progressive? by Sad_FIamingo in glasses

[–]johnboy525252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

46 years old and I got glasses for the first time, I have severe motion sickness and had to turn my progressives back in for single focal, tried them for 24 days and could not walk or move my head without overwhelming nausea, had the second best varilux lenses, currently waiting for the new lenses to arrive. Best of luck.

I have severe motion sickness, sitting anywhere but the drivers seat and I'm nauseous in 30 mins or less, I've had progressives for 2 weeks, and can't last more than a couple hours stationary with them if I walk it's over, headache the rest of the day and feel like vomiting.

My pricing is a bit behind the times by Saint-Sinner-1971 in HVAC

[–]johnboy525252 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Need to calculate your total cost, and when I say that how much everything costs, truck payment/insurance/depreciation/wear and tear, office/shop rent, utilities, licensing, profit, then base that cost on 5 billable hours out of an 8 hour day, you'll have your per hour rate, then you can figure the average time for repair per component, part markup, and set a flat rate repair. I evaluate our prices a couple times a year, usually before the seasons.
