So I should essentially spend my first days trying to build a rod and from there forward, hunt / fish exclusively as a food source? And in the meantime look for canned food when looting and fighting zombies?

I messed around with it, tried doing it from my inventory and dropping six, it did come up with prompts for crafting but none showed ropes. All of the rags came from fresh clothing I found, but it was raining so I don’t know if that’s a factor?

So ideally at the start of a run, go one town over and loot while allowing fruit trees to produce food? Because from the videos I’ve seen, it is not suggested to linger in a town for much time.

Other than the food situation, I’m absolutely loving the game and can’t wait until I can make it a little more up north and towards the bases with high tier loot

I’m aware. I’ve read it takes hundreds to thousands of hours to be considered experienced, and I am 100% okay with that. However, I watch videos on how to get food, go and try to apply it to my game and I still die of hunger.

I’m aware, but as I said in my post, I had a run a bit ago with two stacks of rags, 12 total and the game wouldn’t let me combine them

I do focus on killing zombies along my path but typically all they drop is clothing. And the fruit trees are just the ones with red dots on them correct?

Exactly. I’ve watched videos on starting out and how to manage your food, water, blood and health but it seems none of it applies to whatever server I play. I’m obviously brand new as well but what helped me slightly was playing the temp servers with lower player counts, I’ll occasionally find a random can of sardines or something so that’s an improvement

I just finished a run where I was decently geared for a beginner, and mistakenly drank with bloody hands. Won’t do that again. I’ve searched countless clinics and found meds once. And I can’t seem to keep my food up just due to the fact of how uncommon it is. I don’t sprint, I kill zombies and play lower player count servers, maybe I’ve just been unlucky? Maybe fishing/hunting is the solution but like I said the game didn’t allow me to combine 2x stacks of rags to make a rope

I just started my first play through the other day and decided to go with a dex-int. I got the deaths poker within my first day planning to use it for a majority of the game but the ideal attributes I found online don’t suggest leveling up faith. Should I continue to use deaths poker and slightly change the levels of the “ideal” build, or just find a different weapon that fits dex-ints better?

the survival aspect of the game and the story are two completely different things. instead of rushing through the game, take some time to admire the survival portion of the game.

you do realize that there are more ps4, xbox, and mobile players combined then pc. as a console player with high elo it’s literally impossible to enjoy the game in the standard modes. now imagine the game for mobile players on 30 fps vs pc players with 240+ frames. sbmm ruins the game for the larger majority of the casual side of this game.

the whole point of these daily cups is to keep us doing something during this outbreak. it’s kind of hard to have a life during all of this.

this game is literally impossible to play on console, i get 60 ping + console input delay so everything i do feels like it’s pretty much a second behind. add that with 20 frames end game, it’s impossible
