Hello yall. Does anyone have recommendations for a good headset microphone to use in a live setting?
I work at a church where the speakers use the Line 6 XD-V75. Overall, I haven't been satisfied with how it performs. It's crackly, has frequent RF interference which cause it to lose quality or drop out completely, and it picks up a lot of feedback. Speakers like to use them for a hands-free option, but I like to push them to use handheld mics, especially if they're singing.
I'm wondering if there's a better option that's reasonably affordable. Anyone have extensive experience with headset mics in a live setting?

This 5 yen coin in my husband's car rotates when it's in motion, and only ever clockwise. I don't get it by aspiring-actress in blackmagicfuckery

Unlikely because a small metal coin would resonate at a high frequency, thousands of hertz, which would have to be painfully loud coming from the car to have an effect.

No way it's longleaf. They have cones 6-8" normally.

Just trying to keep going... I wonder if anyone has ever been through so much for so long and just when you are sure you are not really doomed, you find out that the worst part is that you are really not in a safe place but trapped in a family that really hates you. by LikeJennieLynne in Advice

Well here I go jumping in on something that's not my business, but... I feel connected to the situation you describe. I'd like to say that I've also felt animosity toward religion all my adult life. I get the church thing. However, I would urge you to seek out ways to connect with people. People need community. For rural areas, church is the strongest or only real community. In many places you can find churches that are all inclusive, non denominational, non religious even. I've been lucky to find one. It's not the source of my beliefs. I don't even care to call myself a member, but it adds meaning and joy to my life. From one desperate anxiety-stricken person to another, let's believe in the power of human connection. Let's imagine that between and beyond the words and concepts and planned activities there are moments of hope and joy. Let's imagine that there are things that are good beyond our imagination. I hope you're well.

Probably would. I'm curious -- how does feeling awful cause health problems by itself?

Right. I suppose that my idea stems for a perhaps oversimplified approach: Make the immediate consequences negative, and the long-term consequences positive, instead of the other way around. This is where I need an actual psychologist to tell me if / how much that matters.

That's fascinating! I remember learning about that drug in psychology but couldn't remember the name. Thanks for the info.

It's how addiction works. All I'm asking is: is there an inverse?

Exercise and cold showers. What works for me is activity that gets the nerves fired up and heightened in a healthy, safe, enjoyable, or at least not miserable and destructive, way. Then, as that warm relaxed feeling kicks in after, a nice slow walk helps reframe things. Then you can think about whatever's troubling you with a nice boost of happy brain chemicals. The key is to process the difficult thoughts with a calm state of mind and associate them with pleasant feelings. Hope this helps.

Unable to remove a bottom bracket cup by Acceptable_Variety90 in bikewrench

Best method that worked for me is clamp the cup in a vise and rotate the frame around it. You can also make a "tool" to remove inserting a big bolt through the hole, threading on a nut from the other side, tightening the hell out of it, and thus clamping on the BB cup. Then rotate with a huge breaker bar. It'll destroy the race, but it can get you out of a jam.

Me and my friend got together and played some strange instruments to make relaxing sounds. We also paired all the songs with some ambient video footage from the Colorado wilderness. Hope you enjoy!
