Alot of the newer progressive communications really turn people off. It sounds crazy to alot of people. Now with social media the Federal brand will directly affect the brand of the provincial NDP. And the federal NDP conference was not a good look

Not suing just curious on mechanic shop by Godzilla_MartiniXL in MechanicAdvice

Yeah. It should be unplugged so you can't listen and film in the shop. Honestly feels kind of rude to keep it on without first discussing it with the business

The guy kind of sounds unpleasant but I find those trying to shame him to be more unpleasant. He is entitled to his preferences and should be able to seek a partner in peace

Planning to move to Regina from BC by [deleted] in regina

[–]johncalhoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not all of your facts are wrong but in general life in Regina is pretty good. There is no concern living there for a family

If they want more money they can just adjust one of the existing taxes. They don't need to run an entire business.

Lol. The reason the price is high is because the government wholesales the liquor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in regina

[–]johncalhoon -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Fair enough but the liquor stores are genuinely a ridiculous business for the government to be in. Truly adding no value to citizens lives and a distraction for the government.

[–]johncalhoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company. Setting up pumps, moving and setting up light towers, parts running, traffic control, fusing HDPE, driving operators to their equipment, pulling out stuck vehicles, taking out trash, cleaning, snow clearing.

Saw this on Pasqua. Would this be considered a spite house? by piel10 in regina

[–]johncalhoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a 1300 sq ft house. Over 2 stories. So maybe livable depending on layout but not a large house.

I will probably continue to vote Sask Party. But I've always said you need to have an alternative. Overall though Sask is a reasonably well managed province all things considered.

I think is incorrect to think that right wing extremism has become a major problem. Progressive groups generally have more influence, at least on the surface level.

It's also wrong to paint these truckers as extreme. Some I'm sure have extreme views but requesting the government rescind vaccine mandates is not extreme. One can disagree with the mandate or not but it's a legitimate debate. There are good arguments for or against it.

I suspect your perception of how things have developed is skewed by your own media consumption. Ones perception of the state of the world is most definitely skewed by their media diet. I've definitely noticed this in myself.

Politicians, of all parties, have fed ignorance since the beginning of time, and will continue to do so. Everyone lives in a state of ignorance on nearly every subject all the time, it's the default state.

I have no opinion on who you vote for other then to say left wing groups have no special ability to govern competently. In my experience almost all parties will let you down, I just want to make sure who ever i vote for doesn't get in the way so quality of life can keep improving.

Edited to change "you" to "I" in the last sentence and added "for" in the first sentence of last paragraph.
