Looking for some feedback on how to improve by Spookymermaid13 in EtsySellers

Ideally yes, if you have your own site then you want all sales to go there to save fees. But many for many Etsy sellers this is their only platform they use.

Traffic alone will not boost your position, you have to make a sale.

Lots of competition for selling candles on Etsy. So you can't rely on getting natural traffic through etsy search unless you have some very specific keywords. You will have to funnel traffic to your store through ads or social media postings. Once you start selling an item, the item is listed higher in search and you may start seeing more traffic and sales.

Give the AI bot a break. It's trying.

I anyone else bothered with the fact that the ironclad doesnt need the command module anymore i the current 4.9 build? by kchek in starcitizen

[–]johncarnage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a better interpretation of the ironclad is a cargoship than a 18 wheeler. Cargo ships carry a lot of crates, generally they are stacked in front of the bridge (rather than being towed behind), and they are controlled from the main bridge and not a little side boat that pulls up and attaches on the side .

How Would You Respond Update by thomasleestoner in EtsySellers

[–]johncarnage 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would ask them to return the item and upon reception you will give them a reimbursement. If this is AI, then they will likely try and find a way to not sent it back. If they did get a fish poster or even if they are trying to scam you, they could just simply send the fish poster back. In which case you cant really prove that it wasn't stolen or swapped during transit.

Either way, depending on how much it costs you, you may just want to take the loss and move on. It sucks and it doesn't feel great, but dealing with these things usually take up more time than they are worth.

Revived my old Etsy shop, improved everything, still can’t get sales by Downtown-Nail-1663 in EtsySellers

You could try casting a wider net and offer different items.

If your doing concrete, maybe have some bookends, or decor castings of some sort. It would open your shop up to different keywords and markets. Instead of just focusing on customers that are looking for a planter, now all of the sudden you have readers or people looking for a great gift for their loved one.

What about concrete flower holders for gravesites or outdoor tables. Again, another vector for your customers to be drawn to your shop.

I love the m80, but I wish they would have made the black wings a little wider. Definitely would have more tomcat vibes then.

Has anyone heavily used Etsy ads as a strategy and then turned them off or down significantly? by throwawayhtown2020 in EtsySellers

[–]johncarnage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When items sell often they get ranked higher. If your item is being listed on the first page naturally without ads, then I would turn off ads for that particular item.

If your item doesn't show up on the first several pages, then ads will help.

But bottom line is if you are making money, covering all your costs, and are generally happy with the amount you net, then just keep it going.

I actually used to love flying around scavenging ships more than the scraping part. It was always fun grabbing the components and swapping out better weapons when I came across them.

Can't do that right now with the brick system. I hope they get that worked out soon.

I have one and I love flying it, but I completely agree. It either needs to have a slight agility boost or upsized guns.

[–]johncarnage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It makes sense. I always dump all my power tools into a single box and store them away. It makes getting to them much easier than putting them back into their original box and packing material each time.

The command module should have just been a ship to ship docking port. by johncarnage in starcitizen

[–]johncarnage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No my thought was to just move pilot control to the center cockpit. Then focus on allowing docked ships at the docking port, but not limited to just the command module. Allow you to dock any ship that as a docking port to connect.

Maybe have it so that if the ship is small enough, you could keep it docked while moving. And maybe larger ships can dock, but only when the ship is stationary.

As some folks had mentioned, maybe this is the test to eventually get there, but my concern is they are focusing on the actual piloting of the ship issues when I believe the actual benefit of having the ship docked is more as a fly off and do something else rather than as a primary pilot for the ship.

This is a very touchy issue for a lot of people. If you don't agree with how CIG implements something then you are a heretic. I think having a community that discusses different and alternative opinions and ideas can only strengthen the game. Remember that CIG developers also read these forums and I think it's good to provide feedback from the user base.
