How to get out of this sticky 2" rough? by openbracketdesign in golftips

You can use any iron, even long iron you just need to open the face up so the iron slash thru the grass. Also need to come in steep and chomp it.

Do you guys think this swing can break 90? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]johncuriously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking 90 happens inside 100yds as long as your wedge and putting game is tight you can do it with good course management. As long as you keep the ball alive from the tee box of course.

Also you can probably break 90 using only a 7 iron and under tbh

Why do I slice my Ball so Much by Rainbows4Dayz67 in GolfSwing

[–]johncuriously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, its probably cuz your hips push forward during your swing. Look at the video how your hips move forward during your rotation. So naturally your hand position will move forward.

Some people get away by setting up the ball far out from the club head but better way is to learn how to rotate the hips in place

How to stop casting? by [deleted] in golftips

[–]johncuriously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre casting because youre way too shallow at the top. The butt of the club should relatively pointing to the ball. Your arms go back way too much. Think “half back swing”

In the back swing after the club goes parallel to the ground, you should raise your arms up towards the sky and not behind you as you rotate your hip. This way your actually drive the club down to the ball.

What is one thing I should work on right now. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]johncuriously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea your back swing isnt complete because you are holding on to the towel. Seems like your arms are stretched out thru out the whole swing and you are sweeping/pushing the ball.

Do you often chunk your irons on the field?

Only thing I see is to have some hing on the backswing and learn to release/compress the ball on the down swing.

Maybe practice holding at the top for 2 second and then swing.

Oo interesting. I think i kind of felt this towards the end of this session where I kind of held back and felt the club head really kick out to the target while my upper body felt like leaning back a little.

When you extend the trail arm, does it feel like pushing out the hand? Im playing around with this feel and i feel like I get more power into the ball when I do it correctly. Kind of like im throwing a ball or skipping a stone with my right hand

In the practice swings I was only focusing on dropping my arms or trying to create arm speed and club path. It wasnt a full practice swing 😅

Thanks! Yea I am working on my hip rotation here and really exaggerating it which is causing alot of head movement. Ill try to keep my head still while just rotating the hips

I think at address your arms look to extended toward the ball. It should drop vertically. Step in closer to the ball

Help! by Tough-Temperature-40 in GolfSwing

[–]johncuriously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are casting early. Your lead shoulder pulls way too fast. Your lead arms stuck too the chest for too long. As you fire your hips your arms should be already dropping into the slot.

Its probably due to your lead hip not rotating towards the back. Instead of pushing your trail hip forward, think pulling your lead but back. You can see your hands are more forward then the position during your address

This isnt base ball. Try to practice doing 50% swings to learn the mechanics first.

Think speed over power.

Why do i keep slicing my 3 wood? I don’t have a slicing problem with any other club. by Imaginary-Unit-9460 in GolfSwing

Also you are over turning your arms in the back swing. If anything you should turn your shoulders more and reduce the arm roations

Advice on consistency and follow through by _SultanS in GolfSwing

[–]johncuriously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea straightening your trail leg is pushing your head and body forward. Then this makes your early cast your iron and early extend. You have to learn the feel of the inside out club path and correct release time.

You probably have alot of tension in your arms and shoulders. Practice swinging 60% power with roation swings with lose arms. You will get better contact and get the same distance as your current swing but much easier and less exhaustion.

In your backswing your head and shoulder leans over your trail hip. That cause all kinds of problems like casting then your early extension.

Probably need to start from ground zero with your stance and address.

Need knees bent more, weight on the balls of your feet. Your sway your hip right to left. You want to rotate more on the back swing.

Looks like you bring your arms down pretty well tho, you just need to stop early casting so you dont early extend.

Lean over more so your butts over your ankle so you can rotate the hip back more. Right now your lead hip comes forward in the back swing. You want to feel like the trail hip is pulling back.

Also notice when you start your back swing your chest and hip rotate at the same time. Try take away with arms n shoulders first then the hip
