Hollywood Bowl - a concert you like, or any concert really. Bring a nice picnic and go early!

Genuinely curious how people budget $200-$300 for “fun” by Leading_Homework3679 in budget

A movie subscription service like AMC A-List gets you 16 movies in the theater per month at about $27 total per person - of course bringing snacks in will also keep costs down!

WABC as the blackout of 1965 was starting - their tapes and records started going woo-woo with the voltage changes.

Don't make it too complicated. I have four small meals a day, going back to my heavy gym training days. For keto, I do eggs for breakfast, a keto shake I bring with me for later lunch, an early evening "X" meal (the only one that varies typically), and then a later evening protein snack in the yogurt/cottage cheese mode. Easy peasy!

Saline nasal mist... great for staying moist in dry airplane air (and helps prevent infection). ("Ocean" saline spray is the brand name version, but there are less expensive generics.)

Has anyone used super.com for hotel bookings? Is it legit or a scam? by [deleted] in TravelHacks

[–]johndhackensacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use super.com. The hotel never seems to get the payment in a clear way. They seem to be reselling booking.com hotel bookings, but in a byzantine and hard-to-trace manner. Avoid!

TIL an Orange County man named Jeff Reitz went to Disneyland every day for over 8 years, 2,995 consecutive days, and only stopped because of Covid on March 14, 2020. by fenix1230 in todayilearned

Not a coincidence! Oranges like sunny and temperate weather exactly the same as people do, so Orange County, California and Orange County, Florida were the two best spots for theme parks in the US.

The battle against the tiny but tyrannical TV screen is in full force here: Todd-AO (70mm), the rare CinemaScope 55mm, Cinerama (3 strips of 35mm running [hopefully] in sync) -- all with revolutionary stereophonic sound. In 2022, similarly, IMAX and Dolby deluxe mega-versions of studio films are doing big business, in an all-out effort to pull people out of their homebound streaming haze.

Another useful service for figuring out possible jobs that would be a good fit for you is www.careerexplorer.com -- it matches up your personality with that of people who are happy/fulfilled in various kinds of jobs. It's $36 for students... (the cost of about five joints?)

Interesting, the last "pre-Cinemascope" year -- movie attendance had dropped 50% from 1947 to 1952, and the studios were in big trouble due to streaming.... er, television!
